Yep Montreal dominated the opening of the 3rd on Time on Attack.

Oh well, a win's a win. On to game 2.

Awesome ending, real exciting. Hockey is great while toasted, ya can really get into it, I was in a zone the last 15 minutes.

Overview of Game 1

Goaltending- I must say Thomas played a good game tonight. Made some key stops during some of the pressure in the 2nd an early third. He kept us alive. If we didn't have him tonight we would have left shaking our heads.
- Next Game - keep it simple Thomas and play the same way and we should be looking good

Fowards- We played a sloppy game for awhile. Our passes were not crisp nor were we skating with Montreal. They had us chasing them for the 2nd period. That is not acceptable. But they stayed back and played good Defense. PJ, Yelle, and Bergy played huge roles on key penalty kills. All of them block keys shots.
-Next Game - I'd like to see more smart plays coming out of the zone. We need to establish a strong forecheck for the whole game. We did it in the first period but it went away for the majority of the 2nd and 3rd. So we defiantly need to get some pressure on them Habs. Also continue to take the body. The canadiens can't take it when we check them. Also continue to block shots and get in passing lanes.

Defenseman - The defense was very solid tonight. They played well for the most part. I'd like to see sharper passes out of the zone. Especially from Stuart, Montador, and Hunwick. I thought those three played very sloppy. But overall I was pleased with the defense. They only let Thomas see 26 shots. So keep it up.
-Next Game - Continue playing physical and body checking. But I can't stress enough the importance of sharp passing. The Canadiens kill us off turnovers. Also I'd like to see better play in our own zone. I remember at least 5 or 6 times were we let the puck get out of the zone because of sloppy play.

Overall - I was not to happy with the 2nd period. I was disgusted on our lack of skating. We just dumped the puck and let the Habs have it. We need to keep the foot on the gas peddle. Its the playoffs and you can't let games slip. I honestly felt we stole this game even though we played great at some points(1st period and last 10 min of the 3rd period). The first and the last one are always the toughest to get. So lets beat them Saturday and then steal one in Montreal.

That was the game that Montreal needed to steal. We didn't play good and we made plenty of mistakes. Remember game one vs the Cavs last year. It was a tight game and we played awful but because we won that tough and ugly game it was probably the reason we took the series. Montreal needed to steal that game

Going to the game tonight, hold down the fort. Game 2 is very important for the Habs IMHO. If they can get game 2, it certainly helps them when the series shifts to Montreal.

Go Bruins!

Amazing game. The crowd was awesome. Booed every Habs fan there.

5-1. Bergy!!! Kicking ass with his fists. Damn. Did not expect that one. Lucic really wanted to go at the end there. Savard was awesome, and Timmy played excellent.

I would love to sweep. But one win in canada would be fine by me. finish them off in 5, and get ready for the what looks like NY Rangers. Another great rival!

knock on wood of course.

Lucic suspended for game 3. :o

That's harsh. I could see a fine, but a playoff game. This is a bit over the top.

Defiantly. We are the better hockey club and deserve to go further in the playoffs. Watch for the cheap shots tonight. We all know how the officiating is in Montreal

Kessel is amazing. Downright amazing. He's tough as nails, resilient, amazing speed, great shot, and plays awesome in the playoffs. If they don't re-sign him I will sad to see him go.

Shawn Thornton. A goal scorer?? Who would've thunk it. Good to see him get one.

2-2 so far.

I don't know, I wonder if they realize that they have some americans on their team.

Which is why I don't chant USA either. It's a team full of many different countries, chanting U S A is just dumb.

WHOOOO!!! No match. Amazing, I predicted 5, and it only took 4.

Amazing effort by the team. RYDER!! Against his old team, shoving it in their faces.

Return to Boston Bruins
