#6 CAROLINA HURRICANES VERSUS BOSTON BRUINS #1
Image

(#1)Boston Bruins Vs. (#6)Carolina Hurricanes (Series Tied 0-0)
Game 1: Carolina at Boston- Friday May 1 W 4-1
Game 2: Carolina at Boston- Sunday May 3 L 3-0
Game 3: Boston at Carolina- Wednesday May 6 L 3-2 OT
Game 4: Boston at Carolina- Friday May 8 L 4-1
Game 5: Carolina at Boston- Sunday May 10 W 4-0
Game 6: Boston at Carolina- Tuesday May 12 W 4-2
Game 7: Carolina at Boston- Thursday May 14 L 3-2 OT

Well, here we go. First second round appearance in over 10 years. Will they be ready for these surging Carolina Hurricanes? Let's hope so.

Key Matchups:
Staal vs Kessel- Staals a beast. Right now he is playing better then anyone in the league. Kessel has been downright nasty for the B's this playoff season.

Pitkanen vs Chara- Two big dudes trying to set the tone for their defense. Chara has been amazing this season, let's hope he keeps it up.

Ward vs Thomas- Giving the edge to Timmy here. Let's hope he can keep his hot streak up as well.

Glad we're facing the hurricanes instead of pitt, and all their playmakers. But either way this will be a dangerous series, because Staal is a playmaker as well. The Hurricanes are surging, but it took 7 games to do. They will certainly have momentum coming out of that huge comeback win. The B's need to show that they weren't just sitting around, they were ready and practicing for their next series and set the tone early.

Go Bruins!!!!

Nice thread

Should be a dogfight. Carolina is a tough team in the playoffs, I am still unsure why but they always play pretty well. But regardless our bruins are a force to be reckoned with. We can take this series as long as we skate hard and take the body on Staal. I want to see a lot of the Bergeron line out there when Staal's is. I think Bergy's line is our best defensive line up front.

I think Carolina was put through a real tough series against NJ,and taking on the Bruins is only going to make it worse.

Too easy. The canes played with no heart. They have no answer more our physical play. Its only been one game but if the canes think they can win by playing like that, they are in for one short series.

Note for game:

Game is on versus today. Not NESN.

7:30 PM

Can't wait. If the Bruins could take game 2 then this series is in our hands.

Go bruins!

2-1. I don't think a celtics and bruins loss would be good for this town. Not at all...

Final 4-1.

Carolina leads the series 3-1.

Bruins are on the brink of elimination coming back home. Well, we'll see how much this team has left in them. Seeing what I have from this season, 3 games in a row is certainly possible. The key is going to be sunday. Obviously a win is needed. But how they win should determine how the rest of the series will go.

Remember the canadiens series of last. We were down, but not out.

Sorry I have a tough time commenting about loses. It really kills me.

We have played so sloppy, it just is unbelievable. I am so frustrated watching them

I blame every single coach and player.

Not one player has played to their potential

Show some heart boys

4-0.

Chara played great. Kessel played great. And most importantly Timmy played great.

Game 6 tuesday in Carolina, and it's a big one.

Post#17 » by Celtics_Champs » Wed May 13, 2009 1:36 am

I wanted to start this post with a whooo, but with the injury to savard, I am not so sure I am that happy.

The win was great. 4-2. Got the early lead and did not look back. This team has their swag back.

With Savards injury up in the air, it will be tough to beat Carolina without him. I still think they can do it though.

Game 7, you guys fought back and earned it. Let's continue. Go B's!!!
