Trade Idea:Golden State Trade: Cap Space for Klay

How on earth is Bogut and probably a late first worth taking on that much money? Bogut is an absolute shell of himself and probably would retire on a non playoff team. People sometimes lose site of it but we are talking about real money here. This isnt monopoly these stiffs are paid with. You have to have a real incentive to take on that much money for no real reason.

i'm the poster from GSW and if dwight comes out and says I want to sign with GSW I would be down for this trade, though I'd rather not include barnes or klay in the deal as I think Bogut has value and an unprotected 2014 1st in a loaded draft is fair compensation for 20 mil in expiring contracts. Though if the hold up was parting with one of barnes or klay, i would send barnes but if klay is insisted on i would do that as well as neither should be holding us back from signing dwight.

Bogut +1st is a good deal, add barnes to the deal and I don't see how the bucks could say no. you really can't do much better with pure cap space than this deal and the only reason you get such a good deal is because of dwight.

I've never seen anythign like this done in the nba, so i don't know how likely this would be. I think if other teams got wind of something like this, Other teams would try to get in on it. 3 positive assets in bogut, barnes, 2014 1st to get rid of 2 expiring contracts is a steal. And if we can sign dwight by getting rid of those assets it's a win for us. This all being contingent on a known diva who can't make up his mind about anything makes this seem unlikely, but it's a nice plan to have in the back pocket.

I would actually prefer Barnes over Klay personally, but like many have already discussed, it's highly unlikely.

Of course it is highly unlikely. It is trade talk on a message board. Any trade talked about on this message board is highly unlikely to actually happen.

However both teams fan bases can actually get behind the deal on the message board which also never happens which is what actually makes it a good trade.

In the proposed deal we have a choice of Harrison Barnes or Klay, and I'm taking the former.

Bogut can provide mentoring to Larry & Henson if he's even willing to return. Whether or not he can be effective on the court again.

Otherwise he could fetch us a first or player(s) from someone else who he'd rather play for.

Klay
Rush
Lee
Dwight

Bench: Udoh, green, ezeli, bazemore.

We need scoring from the bench which we can use the mle on or possibly re-sign jack. I think landry opts out as there's even less minutes for him.

That's deadly 3pt shooting with 3 shooters at or above 40% with 2 very high volume guys. An all-star pf/3rd team all -nba, who i would look to move in another deal and an all-star 3rd all-nba center. That's a championship contender with a young nucleus, which we can add to later. Add to that a blossoming superstar in Curry, what's not to like about that from the GSW perspective?

we essentially trade Bogut + barnes + jefferson + beans + 1st for dwight and udoh. Bogut gets replaced by dwight, barnes is replaced by rush and jefferson and beans aren't contributors anyway.

A s&t with LA would only benefit dwight and that would take the lakers to play ball. In this deal we completely cut out the lakers, but if the lakers want in on a s&t, we could probably throw in some future 1st to them. They don't want any additional salary past 2014 for their own free agency plans so they don't want any players and most of their fans would rather not get anything for dwight.

if the lakers want to do a s&t, directly we could offer bogut + barnes directly to LA and we would have to shed about a couple mil to get below 74 mil. But preferably we'd like to cut LA out entirely, screw LA.

He has 4 separate posts in this thread calling the trade stupid. I didn't respond to the first two. i just let it go. After the third I got defensive. Yes. If asking someone if they are angry when they sit there and try to highjack a thread when you actually have two fanbases conversing on a trade is pissy. Then I guess I am pissy. He seemed really angry.

Is it a pipedream? probably. But every trade that gets brought up on these boards should be considered a pipe dream then.

Not for Barnes? All of those players are off the books for '14.

And if they included the '14 first rounder unprotected that could be a steal given the draft is packed next year. If either team has a losing record due to whatever circumstance occurs, then not only did you get Barnes for helping them sign Howard but Milwaukee could potentially grab a lotto star.

The Bucks need to get to at least the minimum salary. They will probably have a $60+ million payroll next year no matter what.

In my Honest opinion I don't care who is making that $60+ million as long as the bucks are moving forward in a positive direction. Klay or Barnes and a first gets them moving forward in a positive direction. It gets them something to build on. If you are worried and going to hold up positive trades because you don't think a guy should make X amount of dollars then you are eliminating yourself from a lot of trades that can really help the Bucks get to where most fans want them to be as a franchise.

Also if the Warriors drop 30-38 million they will be fine to sign Dwight.

Still confused on why the GSW would go into full panic mode if Howard wanted to sign. GSW cap number if Landry declines is 71.7

Amnesty Beans-9 mil-62.7
Bogut traded for a TPE-14 mil-48.7
Cut Bazemore/Jones/Machado-2.7mil-46 mil

Then you can start looking at sign and trade options with 11 mil in cap space.

BTW I would be shocked if Jerry West went this route, what has Howard done in the last year that would require this type of sacrifice?
