There had been some sentiment that only Dame should be bringing the ball up and not Giannis. But one of the most effective offensive plays of the Bucks is Giannis in full speed in transition. Are we going to abandon that noting that Dame is mostly much slower bringing the ball up than Giannis?

Both things can be true. I doubt they will want to stop Giannis from bringing the ball up on a fast break. Dame brings it up all other times.

Is Doc going to be on the bench tonight?

I'm just happy the Bucks did the right thing and got a new experienced coach, rather than trying to make a Bunch of trades trying to fit the team to Griff's system. That would have been a disaster. I'm hopeful that any reasonably competent coach like Doc should be able to give the team a decent chance at winning a championship.

If Prunty wins again tonight maybe they just keep Doc on the bench permanently as an advisor. Doc can split his money with Prunty and its a win win for everybody!

As someone who thought Doc might be on the bench Wednesday, I have no idea what everyone is waiting on 6 and a half hours to tip.

I would assume he's not coaching since they'd want to do an introductory news conference with all of local media. Don't know if there's enough time to do that and a game.

Yeah, I'm also going with no since they haven't even had a tweet or anything yet introducing him as a coach. Seems strange.

I like the Doc hire as long as he doesn't become a Kidd 2.0 dictator. My biggest concern with Doc is him becoming just that, and Giannis wanting out. With all the coaching changes recently Doc is going to have the upper-hand, especially since we're paying three coaches, they're not going to be quick to fire him. Anyone else concerned by this or is this nothing to worry about?

I think Doc will be announced this weekend and they'll do a presser. So Prunty will be coaching tonight.

It just shows that these guys do not watch NBA games, or at least small market teams. The national media's takes on this situation have been so far off base it's actually kind of disgusting.

I never believed he liked Kidd for one second, he just was too afraid at the moment to let his feelings be known
I think he low-key hated him, maybe I'm just projecting

I've looked at Bucks jobs before on indeed. They do offer unlimited PTO.

Zion is questionable tonight vs OKC with a foot injury if he plays tonight I would highly encourage selling those tickets if you are intent of seeing him tomorrow.

if giannis gets the ball on the top of the key in iso hes far more deadly than dame unless a walls been built which usually isnt the case. maybe dame down the stretch is better but not all game long.

sometimes in transition and semi transition if its not there its giannis job to read the wall and pass more quickly. i like dame trailing and then initiating from there.

if dame brings it up exclusively it makes us easier to guard as well. i like the alternating as long as theyre both commited to team play it helps to get it in both their hands regularly.

and giannis is not a very good off ball player except maybe if khris has the ball. dame dominiating it more doesnt help either of them and khris seems like hes the only one whose figured out giannis tendencies without the ball which arent traditionally fundamental spots to make the typical safe pass

i hope doc just tweaks the offense. make sure everybody is seeing their spots. none of our guys are as one dimensional as embiid or harden..... and dame aint paul and giannis aint blake. this wont fit any of those molds.

i say keep the initiation moving around and as far as im concerned dame, khris, and giannis ALL need to initiate if they havent the last couple times down depending on what their OWN confidence levels are. on offense doc needs to coach in principles not cubby holes

Yea nobody wants to take away Giannis in transition, its probably the #1 points per play in basketball. It's the normal half court set type situations, usually after the other team scores. You're gonna want Dame with a ball screen to start most of those possessions, hopefully from Giannis. In many cases if they spam Dame after it you're getting Giannis in a 4 on 3 situation to attack the lane or pass to a wide open corner 3 from what should be elite shooters in KM/Beaz. If you watched the last 5ish mins of the last game that's what folks want. It was so easy.

And its not like anyone saying Giannis is bad at this or it doesn't get points, he is top level too. And its not like there isn't gonna be times where it just works out that he has the ball instead. Dame just happens to be one of the best ever at it and we've all seen how stagnant it can become in the playoffs with Giannis since he can't shoot and D get ramped up so its not as easy for him to just score by himself like he does regular season. It would be best to get the reps hammered in during regular season so they're ready for the last 5 mins of playoff games. This route gets everyone involved and more ball movement instead of standing watching Giannis.

Also, if rotations get sorted out Giannis will have 12-15 mins a game with Dame on the bench where he is in full control as PG to do whatever he wants, just like in the past.
