Here's how you convince Kohl.....make a few really good moves. Home run moves. Then Kohl will love you. We will also. That's how you get POLITICAL CAPITAL to get what you want. Like how George Karl got to be the highest paid coach in the league and a share of ownership in the team back in 2000. He delivered. Kohl rewarded with even more power. The power to sign Anthony Mason and trade Ray Allen for example.

Sorry I'm ranting tonight, but this BS about us not being able to see "the real Hammond" due to Kohl is complete crap. If Hammond were a great or even good GM, we would have seen a couple signature moves here the past six-years to prove he knows what he's doing. We haven't seen anything of the sort.

Sanders, Henson, Giannis and Harris? Even LRMAM? Getting good players where the Bucks did in the draft isn't insignificant.

Nah, Hammond **** sucks at his job too, he deserves a ton of blame as well.

Eh, he allowed Hammond to sign Gooden and trade for Maggette.

Excellent post. At this point Hammond might just be one of many voices that Kohl looks to for managerial decisions. I mean if your Kohl how do you trust Hammond after the multitude of moves that shortly thereafter became mistakes that he had to clean up.

Maggette ---> Stephen Jackson ---> Disaster, Gooden ---> Bench ---> Amnesty, Tobias ---> Redick, etc

Which leads to the bigger point of why in the hell was Hammond extended? It was purely based off of a few weeks of play last year which had the team trending towards the 7th seed.

Not insignificant, but I don't think any of those players hardly could be considered "signature moves". Maybe if Giannis becomes a premier player, but that likely isn't happening very soon. PP is right in saying he hasn't placed a marking stone in Bucks history yet.

I highly doubt that is the case. Hammond is Kohl's employee, he's going to do whatever Kohl wants. Hammond is trying to win now with what Kohl has given him, and doing an atrocious job at it. He may want to tank and Kohl may have told him no, but once that may have happened he made an honest attempt to make this team good. And he sucks at it.

The best example I can think of in defense of your argument is the late acquisition of Caron Butler. They weren't intending to light $8 million on fire to try and tank with an aging vet. They saw him as a key "win now" contributor. In their minds, they were getting Caron Butler from '07-08: a man that never aged or regressed in talent. Recall Larry Drew's comment about him not being the 3rd or 4th option on our team...

You just have to hope that looking at their 5-17 record, they have reassessed their plan and have gotten Kohl to buy in to the tank for the rest of this season.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Signature moves?

Getting one of the five best defenders at 15, then signing him to a below market deal? Those aren't signature moves? What does that even mean, then?

Hammond has been a pretty **** great drafter, and for a team like the Bucks that's maybe the most important quality a GM can have.

I'll echo PP's thoughts. RS isn't far off in saying those were good picks but he pooped away his top 10 picks and I don't think any of those guys are moving the needle incredibly far save for maybe Giannis.
