17/10 4 steals 3/5 from three. He'd have to actually have that ankle amputated for me to not trade Ellis for him.

Horrible call to give that a shooting foul. GSW could lose another one.

Should've been a foul on Curry.

He started out the season horribly. In the last six games he's shot .446/.526/.956.

Curry is 18.5/4.1/5.8/1.6 @ .546 TS and is three years younger than Monta. We'd be crazy not to make that swap, ankle injuries or not.

Starting to think GSW might be better without Bogut, because he slows down their offensive flow. :)

NBA commissioner David Stern released a statement against the decision by Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs to send home Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green instead of traveling with the team to play the Miami Heat on Thursday.

"I apologize to all NBA fans," said Stern. "This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming."

A source tells Adrian Wojnarowski that the Spurs received no word from the NBA about the decision prior to Stern's statement.

The Lakers received a $25,000 fine in April of 1990 for sitting Magic Johnson and James Worthy in a late regular season game.

Jerry Buss apologized to the fans of the Blazers, as the game was held in Portland.

Anyone else think this is ridiculous? If you don't want teams to rest players, then don't make the season 82 games long. This is like if baseball penalized teams for giving a player a day off... or if a player was banged up in football and they held him out a week to prevent him from getting hurt/playing poorly.

Man is Stern a douche.

Was just listening to SVP and Russillo, really the only good national radio guys working. Their opening ten minutes was on the Pop/Stern deal and they had the same take I did last night. It's ridiculous and the only reason Stern was pissed off is because it was national televised Thursday night game. It'll be framed by the league as an insult to fans who paid good money to come and see the players, but that's total crap. Miami barely shows up to see their own team play, at least in the first half, and nobody shows up to see Tim Duncan. The ironic thing about it is the game probably got great ratings because everyone tuned in once word got out the Spurs were actually winning late.

Oh and they also mentioned they were pro-tanking. That was neat.

When in the NBA do we have a history of "resting" players? And when has such "rest" meant three all-stars being "rested" on the same day before a marquee game? I am unfamiliar with such a pattern although I understand it is commonplace in the baseball world with a 162 game season and games every single day.

I prefer the take of the Orlando blogger who said Jordan would never have said he needed "rest" and backed out of facing the defending champion Heat. Said Duncan, Manu and Parker have to look themselves in the mirror on that one.

I agree the idea that a team needed to rest all three stars at the same time and some bench guys is a bit much. You can, and I think some do regularly give a night off here and there to some players. I also have a hard time swallowing the idea that 30 minutes 3 times over 7 days is killing anyone no matter the age they could have staggered that. Let them sit out a practice or two.

As a Buck fan your marquee tickets are so cheap comparatively speaking. But, say your a Chicago fan, try and picture splurging on tickets in the $250 each range for a family of 4 just so you can have decent, not great lower bowl tickets when the Spurs come to town and you have that happen.

The Spurs sat Manu, Duncan and Parker last year against the Blazers. Virtually every name player sat in the Boston/Miami game last April. It happens every year.

Yeah, it happens the last week of the season. We've seen that. The final 2 or 3 games.

But you don't see it happen in November. I think the Spurs come off in this looking like pansies.

If you want to hate David Stern, there are about 100 other legitimate things to kick him in the teeth on versus this.

Gloss over the part where I said the Spurs did the same thing in the middle of the season last year against the Blazers? I don't remember your outrage back then.
