Ford Mock #1 - Robinson III

Post#1 » by ReasonablySober » Tue Apr 9, 2013 4:29 pm

Analysis: The Bucks don't have a lot going for them right now at the small forward position -- especially since sending Tobias Harris out of town in the J.J. Redick deal. Robinson would give them yet another long, athletic forward who can fly up and down the floor. The difference with Robinson? He can shoot, and let's face it, there's some karma at play here, too. The Bucks drafted Robinson III's father with the No. 1 pick in 1994. Keep it in the family.

Rest:

1 - CHA - Noel
2 - ORL - Smart
3 - PHO - McLemore
4 - CLE - Porter
5 - DET - Oladipo
6 - NO - Burke
7 - SAC - Muhammad
8 - OKC - Len
9 - WAS - Bennett
10 - MIN - Harris
11 - PHI - Zeller
12 - POR - McGary
13 - DAL - MCW
14 - PHO - Plumlee
15 - MIL - GRIII
16 - BOS - Olynyk
17 - UTA - McCollum
18 - ATL - Saric
19 - CHI - Caldwell-Pope
20 - ATL - Franklin
21 - GSW - Withey
22 - BKL - Dieng
23 - IND - Gobert
24 - NYK - Austin
25 - LAC - Crabbe
26 - PHO - Adams
27 - DEN - McAdoo
28 - OKC - Rice Jr.
29 - SAS - Anderson
30 - CLE - Hairston

Just a brutal class.

Ehh... whatever. Not excited whatsoever to be mid-round again.

This whole draft sucks. Just let the backcourt walk and tank like hell to get wiggins or Parker next year.

Little Dog would be a good pick.

I'd be very happy with Big Dog 2.0 but I don't foresee him entering. I think another year in college and his game will benefit, and stock will rise. The only reason he may come out is Michigan's run in the tourney along with a weaker draft.

I'd love the pick though, maybe a little nostalgia is clouding my judgment though. Big Dog was always my favorite.

Would love to get Little Dog. Give him #13 too.

Robinson will be better off in college next season. Foolish if he declares.

Michigan could be quite depleted next year and 2014 is going to be ridiculously deep draft, thanks in large part to Kentucky's guys returning to school. I'm not sure it's not in Robinson's best interest to leave early.

It really doesn't matter who we pick since we will probably site them on the bench and then trade them for Afflalo in a year or two.

This. Wouldn't even need to land one of those two to make it worth it. Harrison, Randle or Gordon would be nice foundation pieces.

It's probably best we did make the playoffs this year. Our luck we finish 9th and end up winning another lottery with basically no game changers or clear cut superstars.

I am just not a believer in the one and done kids. I understand the lure of the money is great, but so many of these kids think they are better than they really are. A lot of us thought Xavier Henry would be a good pick for the Bucks three years ago and the kid can barely get 10 minutes a game for New Orleans.

Sure it's a crap shoot but personally I'd like to see more out of a kid than just one year of college.

Tobias Harris says hello. And goodbye. :(

you don't think Tobias would have been better off playing another year at Tennessee, likely improving his draft status, while actually PLAYING basketball for the year?

Draft him Hammond.

This is borderline insane considering the vast majority of top talent goes one and done. You can point out Xavier Henry, but there are busts of all stripes. The fact is, a kid coming out a year or two early is advantageous for us as it actually gives us a chance at getting a talented player before everybody figures out how talented he is. The guys who stay 2-3 years and prove to be outstanding don't last until 15. See: Oladipo, Burke, Porter. If you take an upperclassman in our position, you're looking at marginal talent.
