Little pricey compared to other shops, about $250, but the windows are absolutely flawless.

Where are they located? $250 for everything?

They have two locations, one in Greenfield, and another in Waukesha. I went to the Waukesha location, as it had a shorter wait to get in. It was near the new Woodman's in Waukesha.

And yeah, it was $250. I drive a 2012 Focus hatchback, so that was the price for all the windows with the exception of the windshield. Their work also comes with a lifetime warranty, which is awesome.

Blackout is really good, but super busy. I called on my car and they said a 2 month wait. Yeah right.

I went to Stereo One and had really good results. I believe my costs were right around that 250 mark. I think that's pretty common for the higher end film.

Yowza! I had to wait two weeks to get into the Waukesha location. The Greenfield location was 3-4 weeks they said. It was well worth the wait however.

So what are the laws in Wisconsin regarding window tinting? I thought there was a limit as to how dark it can be but I see a lot of cars where I can't see the driver.

I believe its something like 50% for the front and 35% for the rear.

I believe mine is 20% all around but you can see me still. I want to make sure I can establish eye contact if you will.

It does give the police a reason to pull you over but I always tint my windows and have never been pulled over. My son with his really dark tint has a couple of times.

Go for it. Mine is 20% and pretty dark. You can see my silhouette and can usually tell if I am looking at you (outside light dependent).

My sons which is only slightly "darker" with rating is much darker and you can pretty much never see in.

The darker it is, the more likely you'll be pulled over for it.

Me driving a modified STI I worry about stuff like that. Don't want to give too many more reasons to mess with me. For example I actually have front plate for the first time in like 20 years.

I'm looking at getting a new card in the next 6-9 months. Where is Stereo One?

South 27th.

At first I was like, hmmmm. Is this place a little shady?

Then as we wait to get in the other guy waiting is a Milwaukee Police Officer who brings all his recovered cars there. Gave a ringing endorsement and then ordered the guy (lol) to take care of me.

It's that time again. Looking for opinions on these:

C43 AMG

S5

M240i

I do have a favorite, but I'm hoping a smart car person has some thoughts.

S5, easily.

ETA: I'm not a smart car person, but for 5.5 years I lived with car guys whose appreciation for Audis would put the Giannis-love here to shame.

I drive an Audi (though not nearly as sexy as an S5) and would highly recommend it as well. With that being said, I have not driven any of the other cars listed and my Audi is still relatively low miles.

You guys are all into these 2-door coupe sports cars. I must be an old man, lol. 2015 Chevy Silverado for me. Full-size truck and personally, I'll never go back to a car. I like the big boat ride, etc. Had a 1991 Cadillac Sedan DeVille - old man, grandpa's car and that was when I was in my 20's. Rode like a boat, floated like a boat, man that car was a dream. Had two Hyundai Sonata's after that - great car, but even most 4-door sedans now are like a sports car ... 22-inch rims, low-profile racing tires, bumpy ride, etc. No thanks. But, that's just me. I test-drove all of the full size trucks and the Silverado was absolutely the closest thing to the old Cadillac soft luxury ride.

My advice is, do the research, take your time, think long and hard about it and get the vehicle that you want. Nothing crappier than buying a new vehicle and then a month later, wishing you'd gotten something else, a different paint color, or whatever.

Good timing for a car bump, 'reme (I think that'll stick, and allow the great wits on here an opportunity to offer "Sup, reme?"!). We're currently trying to work out another car and looking in a similar range- the options being considered are;
1. Old Kombi, done up*
2. Old Kombi, to do up
3. Old Landrover Defender
4. Newish Landrover Defender*

Anyone have any experience with any of these sweet, sweet rides? Caveat- I have zero experience with doing up cars, but have recently mastered changing headlight bulbs in our Golf so I'm assuming there's not much more to learn.

*Dream on, sister.

Knew someone who had an Audi A4. It had so many problems that he seriously thought about leaving it on the side of the road unlocked with the keys inside.

No doubt Audi makes great looking cars though.

Hey truck owners - anybody drive a Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon? If so, what are your thoughts? When Mrs. Finn lets me buy a new vehicle (hoping next year), I think it'll be one of the two. Have gone from a new '88 Silverado, to a new '99 Silverado, to a used '07 Envoy. Ready for another pickup.
