Wow. That's the stereotypical, "He'll be selling insurance after roster cuts."

They are still in on a set of good/elite guys as well.

Vitto Brown was also a freshman last year, so I think judging at this point is a bit premature.

It's not a desperate situation, and they'd still be adequate, but it would be a mini disaster if they didn't land any of the Sharma/Ellenstone/Stone trio, let alone Illikainen too. It's pretty crazy no recruit has committed since the final four appearance. That should have been a resolution of one hold-up. The style was a little better too, although I can still see that being somewhat of a hold-up because it was still slower than most and due to a longer history. If someone like Stone is coming to Wisconsin but just basking in the attention right now, it'll all be largely much ado about nothing in the end, but until then it's a little nervy. You gotta admit that.

I pretty much agree with this post. Only nitpick: Pritzl committed in May, but your point is taken.

I'm still staying positive re: Stone & Illikainen. I don't think we're getting Sharma though, which is pretty much a 180 from my stance 5 months ago.

Gasaway had an article on ESPN Insider the other day ...UW predicted to have a top 5 offense and a top 10 defense. Going to be a great year assuming they stay healthy.

Now add Stone and let the good times roll.

Charlie Thomas commits. 3-star 6-7 PF that was rising a little bit as of late.

Only offers left are to Sharma and Stone. Sharma seems like a 0% chance at this point but Stone is still in play.

For anyone that cares, the class cracked into the top 25 on 247. If they got Stone they'd join Marquette in the top 10.

Stone is announcing November 12 and the final 4 is Maryland, OK St., UConn, and UW.

I'd say it's probably UConn with UW having a realistic chance actually. For once, I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I'm still expecting UConn.

Stone also announced that he will be taking his official visit to Wisconsin this weekend. Coincidentally (or not), UW plays Maryland this weekend.

Yeah, it had seemed like Sharma was not happening for the past few months and they moved on to Illikainen and Thomas. Sucks because it seemed like he was a lock when the whole thing started.

I don't begrudge any 17-18 yr old their decision but I hold a lot of respect for those that choose to go to Stanford. Its too bad he won't be here but thats a great opportunity and a great scholarship. I want Stone anyways.

Yeah, once illikainen committed, and especially thomas, I figured Sharma was gone. Too bad.

Good luck to him at Stanford. Hopefully it's not as painful as the last Wisconsin recruit to land at Stanford, Chaisson Randle.

My gf and I went to D.C./Baltimore this past weekend. Stone was on our flight into Reagan and again on the flight out of Baltimore. Pretty crazy considering the flights were in two different cities/airports. I really wanted to go up and talk to him but thought it would be weird, especially since he was travelling with his parents.

He's the best high school player I've ever seen. I can't wait to see how his career turns out, whether it's at UW or not. Plus I've been looking at getting a grad degree from UConn. ;)

You have to have about $25 million in student loan debt at this point.

So he says, but seems like a bigger Badgers' fan than most here, which I like to tease him about. I'm surprised he didn't make a bee line to him, breast stroke away his parents, and put in a good word for us.

Completely unrelated yet very related: I went to a bachelor party from MSP to Chicago this summer and sat with a bunch of football recruits from Minnesota that were attending the Rivals camp in Chicago on the way home. I am forgetting the kid's name, but he was the son of a former Gopher player and either a commit or target...I could do some recon. His mom was completely obsessed with basically yelling out the conversation that her son was a football recruit and who he had offers from. I was halfway across the plane and was listening to the whole thing. She went through his offer list several times to the person next to her. Pride is cool, but man, everyone became well aware of who her son was by the time the plane took off.

Seth Green was also in there. I didn't know these guys by name or face on the flight (however, Green was carrying a freaking football around the entire time wearing the Rivals shirt) so I went online and looked up who was attending later on and put some of the faces to names.
