Both Giannis and Jabari. Their play will work who is more of the face of the franchise.

In the US, Jabari. Outside our borders it's got to be Giannis, except in Australia where it's still probably Bogut. :nonono:

It really is Kidd now. That will be the first face people think of when the Bucks are mentioned.

It's a lot better than Michael Redd or whoever the hell it would have been a year or two ago.

No player has earned the face of the franchise tag.....right now it is Kidd, which is rare for an NBA team

Right this moment Jabari, I am hopeful for a two headed monster where down the road they are pretty much 1A and 1B

Giannis Antetokounmpo getting his shot at point guard

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/gi ... 03021.html

This article is loaded with quotes (great stuff). Do yourself a favor and read the whole thing.
Charles Gardner wrote:It did not take long for Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd to get to the point.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the 6-foot-11 athlete dubbed the "Greek Freak," is being given an extended audition at the point guard spot during the NBA Summer League.

On Monday night in the Bucks' game against the Utah Jazz, Antetokounmpo played almost exclusively as the primary ball-handler in a team-high 32 minutes.

But does Kidd really think Antetokounmpo could handle the point guard – or point forward – duties during the regular season?

The answer is a qualified yes.

"We've seen it in practice," Kidd said. "When you see a player's comfort level with the ball – no matter what size – we wanted to see it in game action. We slowly have started letting him have the ball and running the offense."

The 19-year-old Antetokounmpo, who enters his second NBA season this fall, clearly is relishing the chance to have the ball in his hands.

"I did it like two years ago in Europe but last year I didn't do it at all," Antetokounmpo said of his rookie season in Milwaukee.

Charles Gardner wrote:."With the group we have right now with B (Brandon) Knight and Giannis, we have additional playmakers," Kidd said of regular-season plans. "When we have that on the floor, it makes the game easy. We'll see how the roster shakes out, but we're not afraid to play him at the point, as you see."

Kidd was an all-star point guard during his NBA career so he knows what the position requires. Even though Antetokounmpo has grown 2 inches since being drafted by the Bucks in 2013, his length is not a disqualifying factor.

"If you have Giannis, Knight, (Jabari) Parker, (Ersan) Ilyasova and (Larry) Sanders, it's a pretty big team," Kidd said. "Most people would say Knight is the point guard.

"But if you have Giannis with the ball directing traffic, he would be the point guard, or the shooting guard, or the 3 or the 4."

It's quite likely Antetokounmpo will play those four positions for the Bucks next season, and he could play them all within the same game.

Charles Gardner wrote:Antetokounmpo at times has dribbled into trouble during the summer league games, causing turnovers and fast-break chances for Bucks opponents.

But he also has penetrated and dished to open teammates or blown by his defender to get all the way to the rim for dunks or layups.

"As coaches we might say, 'Slow down,'" Kidd said. "Understand the process of not going too fast.

"A 19-year-old to a 30-year-old is a little different in understanding that. But that's what this time of the year is for, to understand Magic (Johnson) wasn't fast. Grant Hill had a quick first step but he was a point forward.

"Scottie Pippen could play multiple positions."

Johnson, Hill and Pippen were able to handle the ball despite their size, with Magic measuring 6-9 and Pippen and Hill each 6-8.

Kidd said he sees the youngster's best potential being fulfilled with the ball in his hands.

"He wants to be good," Kidd said. "You can see the development from last year to (Monday's) game that he's going in the right direction."

Kidd projecting the starting lineup ; Giannis, Knight, Jabari, Ersan, Sanders?

Gotta go with Jabari. I feel like there are still a lot of people that don't know much about Giannis with him coming overseas and the Buck never being on TV anywhere out of the state of Wisconsin.

Jabari is the face to build the franchise around. But Giannis has huge upside if he settles in at regular spot. Giannis looks better than Jabari in summer league games so far.

Let me put it this way. In terms of popularity, it is obviously Parker. Parker is a household name. In terms of impact on this team, I think most of us die hards know it is Giannis. He will be the guy who decides how successful this franchise will become. He is the guy with the highest ceiling.

Kind of surprised how lopsided this is but to me it seems obvious that Giannis is still the franchise and Parker is the all star sidekick. Giannis is a freak and somebody the Bucks are real lucky to have, he is the superstar that for years everybody has been talking about the Bucks needing to win a championship. It is also great that he is from Greece and will never have the temptation to return home to win a NBA championship for his city. With Parker I think he will be playing for the Bulls someday.
