Everything is going to work out. I think the site plans are close and the city is putting together a workable financial plan. The state bonds will come down big time but will go through. If state bonds don't go through, I believe there is a backup plan to keep team here.

We are so stupid. We don't deserve nice things.

Also....ya know, it'd be nice if they went ahead and announced one of the uninspired locations already.

Don't forget this is a city that almost blew getting the BC as a gift. The Pettits were VERY close to pulling their offer.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I agree with Paul, the deal will get done. It's just frustrating as hell.

Not with the invisible commissioner Adam Silver running things. Nobody fears him like they did Stern. He's bluffing and all talk. Hence the reason why think when this CBA is up we're in for a long NBA stoppage. The players and their new union rep smell blood especially now that Stern is gone and he wants to be the players best buddy.

Those renderings have to leak somehow.

So this is the site for sure?

"The Bucks have targeted the site just north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center as the site for a new arena. Bucks' officials also are eying portions of the Park East corridor, as well as a city-owned parking ramp at the corner of N. 4th St., and W. Highland Blvd., for additional ancillary development."

For the sake of easy reading:

This week, the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin hosted a discussion about the arena and potential ancillary development. In general, Realtors involved in the office, retail, commercial and housing industries were bullish about potential new development near the new arena. One Realtor said he had been in contact with the heads of several unnamed companies who had expressed an interest in possibly moving their headquarters to sites near the proposed arena site.

The Bucks have targeted the site just north of the BMO Harris Bradley Center as the site for a new arena. Bucks' officials also are eying portions of the Park East corridor, as well as a city-owned parking ramp at the corner of N. 4th St., and W. Highland Blvd., for additional ancillary development.

No specific details of the Bucks' plans have been released. However, team officials have been meeting with public and private groups to show them renderings of pictures of what the arena could look like.

This week, Mayor Tom Barrett and other top city officials met with the Bucks at the team's new offices at Schlitz Park to review the team's plans and what the city may be willing to do.

It's too bad the moderne was built too soon. It would've been nice to move that 1 block north, tear down the parking lot and have some green space to the river from the arena. It would have been very visually appealing and inviting to water street.

I'm glad they are looking at this as as an entertainment complex and not a stand alone arena. That's always been my goal/wish. And it makes sense they are discussing details privately before publicly. It looks like things are moving forward.

Are there any relevant easy info things that can help direct you to your representation to send letters, emails in support of Arena bonding using the "pay their way" jock tax?
The Milwaukee Bucks. Still the only major Milwaukee team to get closest to a title since the mid 1980's.

The wealthy owners of the Milwaukee Bucks desperately need a new arena because the ancient 28-year-old BMO Harris Bradley Center cannot generate enough revenue to please the modern National Basketball Association.

There are simply not enough ways to get hold of the fans' money through absurdly overpriced beverages, food and merchandise. Most of the merchandise — T-shirts, sweatshirts, banners and bobbleheads — is made in Third World sweatshops, but that is another issue.

They need to incorporate really expensive shops and restaurants into the new arena, shops that only an idiot, or a tourist, would buy from, but that wouldn't be a problem.

The bottom line: the one-percenters need our help. Let's pitch in. Adding to the sales tax — policy that negatively affects the poorest among us — may not be enough, so I suggest aluminum can drives throughout the state to raise money for the billionaires. Children can donate their lunch money. Give your old cars to the Milwaukee Bucks, donate the proceeds from your rummage sales to the rich, place cups beside store cash registers with the sign: "Help our billionaires!"

If we all work together we can make this happen.

I'll look into who people should be contacting.
