Looks like the project is officially called the "Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center" and a website has been launched with a construction webcam: http://wisconsinesc.com/

Not sure if you need a Business Journal account to view, but this is very cool. There's a slideshow of 25 pictures that definitely give you an idea of what the interior of the arena will be like. Very excited.

The Milwaukee Bucks are putting the final touches on a “preview center” designed to give prospective season ticket and luxury suite buyers a virtual-reality feel for the new arena.

The sales center occupies 6,000 square feet in the same Schlitz Park Stock-House building as the Bucks front office at 1543 N. Second St. and is scheduled to be completed in time to be used by the team for a private event on Thursday during the NBA draft.

You don't need an account to view. Just to be clear the pics they have on the website are of the preview center, not of the new arena. Once the preview center is done (this week it sounds like) there should be some good pics of the interior of the new arena.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Correct. They do mention in a caption that some of the brick and wood that they show will be what's used in the arena though. That's where my comment came from.

Good find, I didn't know about this. I am anxious to see the side by side chair comparison with the BC's chairs :)

Based on the images shown in the preview center, and comparing these to the planning document I referenced in a previous post, I estimate the new arena's upper seating rows to be spaced nominally 33.5 inches apart (or about the same as those in the lower 'prime' section of the Bradley Center). If accurate, this would be a nearly TWO INCH increase from the BC's upper level seating, and a welcome relief to the arterial circulation of spectators in the "cheaper" seats. Additionally, the apparent end-zone seating foci on the basketball baseline midpoints would be among the current 'best' NBA facilities. Hurry, Mortenson - we're anxiously waiting.

Harley is primary sponsor but the name of the arena itself is still up for debate. Two options on the table are:

PotatoPotatoPotato Rec Center

Loud-Pipes-Save-Lives-But-Annoy-the-Crap-Out-of-Every-Non-Motorcycle-Rider Fieldhouse

I heard it was going to be called the "Lasry-Edens-Dinan Arena."

I forget, are they starting the practice facility first?

How long is this thing supposed to take to build anyway? We are breaking ground on a custom home we are building on August 15th. They say our home will take 12-15 months. I wonder what gets done first.

2 years for the arena itself. About a year for the practice facility and parking garage.

Somehow the Empire State Building was built in 14 months. That must have been crazy around the clock type stuff.

I've heard estimates of the stadium involving around 1,000 people. Empire State Building was close to 4x as many workers. And it still seems crazy.

Now they're hoping to open the new arena at the start of the 18-19 season. Remember when we were warned it had to be completed for the start of 17-18 or they'd move the team? I guess those construction workers better get going now and sprint across those high beams. They could save some time by not harnessing themselves in.

Buildings today are much more complex than they were back then.

And before someone chimes in, no it really doesn't have to do with unions.
