Bucks D-League Affiliate

Our naming committee is better than their naming committee.
I admit to being a terrible judge of talent and having minimal knowledge of the game of basketball.

Yeah they moved quickly. The day after you mentioned there was nothing, I drove by and it looked like they were ready for the roof. All the foundation was up.

If going with herd, I like Oshkosh otters then. Yikes.

Stags was cool, although aviators has always been the best.

The cowherd talk show is all I think of when I hear herd. That's not great. Gosh he's probably gonna talk about having a team named after him.

It's not the worst name ever, kinda of bored talking about it. Still better than cream city clash or whatever the hell that abomination of a name was.

"Emerged from the Herd" and "Separated himself from the Herd" sounds kinda cool when someone gets called up, I guess.

I am not a big fan of the name either. But by definition herd = a large group of animals, especially hoofed mammals.
So maybe the logo would be our Deer logo somehow multiplied to represent a herd, there is potential (logo wise).

Not only is the name stupid - you are now left with nowhere to go as far as the logo.
Merchandising can be a huge deal for these "minor league" affiliates, but not when you pick an idiotic name that gives you nothing to work with. The same exact reason Marquette Gold was a disaster. What can you do with it ?

Name, merchandising, mascot, advertising, events, attractions, promotions, it doesn't take but two brain cells to know you have to think about all these things together. Good luck selling t-shirts to kids with some lame intertwined WH because you're too stupid to know any better and painted yourself in a corner. I guess the fans can now nickname the arena, The Cornfield :(

All they had to do was look at what the Timber Rattlers have created and follow that blueprint. My daughter was all about the mascot and getting her picture taken with it, autograph and a t-shirt etc etc. Have my doubts that a t-shirt with 5 deer on it will be high on her must have list.

The contest was obviously a publicity stunt and some idiot or committee picked the name to be associated with the Bucks regardless of the outcome, and they botched it big time. Knock me over with a feather.

If we were going deer themed, I'd have gone with the "Estrous Boners," but whatever.

On the list of things to gripe about, the G League team's name in Oshkosh is pretty damn low, but... seriously. It's a terrible and generic name. No one is traveling to Oshkosh to watch this crap, so have something locally specific to open up cross promotion opportunities and foster city pride in the team in the hopes that people will turn out.

The Oshkosh Air Show or Aviators or Pilots are no brainers. Hell, the Oshkosh Overalls makes more sense than this.

Meh. Whatever.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Full disclosure: I'm not a hunter and pretty much the only time I see deer are when they've been smashed by cars. On the few occasions I have seen deer in the wild they are either along e or in a group of 3-6. That is not a herd.

Was hoping they'd incorporate the flying industry in the name. Herd sounds pretty dumb to me.
