The Thunder played Durant at the 2 when they were tanking.

Could see us doing something similar since this season is already shot basically beyond developing young players.

Rashad looks like his given up for himself. It's not his fault mainly. I think having as his mentor OJ Mayo is the worst thing happened for him. I don't know if he learned bad habits from OJ, but man, he is playing so loose, too laid back, no fire in him. In SL he was almost trash... his FG% was like 32 or something. I hope he does perform well, if he does not, he will not be an NBA player next summer.

After one season he gave up , good observation.

Rashad is one of the weirdest players on the roster in that he could be complete trash or good and I wouldn't be surprised either way. I have no expectations at all for him this year.

With Middleton out, I expect a ton of head-scratching lineups in the name of development.
Chemistry better be damn good on the bench for the 17-18 season.

If he hangs out with Terry, there is hope
If he hangs out with Beasley, he is done

Given our current roster, I would go with the following rotation:

PG
33 Delly
15 MCW
SG
24 Vaughn
24 Brogdon
SF
34 Jabari
14 Giannis
PF
20 Giannis
28 Maker
C
20 Henson
20 Monroe
8 Plumlee

Would prefer to trade Monroe, Henson, and MCW, but I play them now, because they are still young-ish and perhaps would entice a team to trade for them.

Here's what my rotation would have looked like if we had kept Ennis, Inglis, JOB, and 38th pick (McCaw) instead of trading for Beasley and signing Mirza, Terry, and Novak:

PG
30 Delly
18 Ennis
SG
20 Vaughn
18 Brogdon
10 McCaw
SF
33 Jabari
11 Inglis
4 McCaw
PF
25 Giannis
16 JOB
7 Inglis
C
20 Henson
20 Maker
8 Giannis

I think an 11 man rotation is too large if you're trying to win in the present, but that's not my goal, in either scenario. I would definitely have preferred the lineup with Ennis, McCaw, Inglis, and JOB.

Mirza, here is 10M dollars a year, now go sit on that bench!

Yeah, I thought it was weird that Mirza wasn't there. Especially when he's one of the only shooters we have .

It's not. And tanking sucks.
The goal is the playoffs. Difficult yes, impossible no.
Giannis and Jabari will make one more leap, delly, teletovic, terry and 1 of the 2 SGs(vaughn or brogdon) will step up and provide you what you miss so badly: Shooting.
This season this team has bench power. So there is hope.

Sure if everything goes right with all of our young players we could still have a good season.

But barring a significant trade it seems more likely that we go through the year without a starting caliber SG, much less any semblance of 'bench power' as you put it.

We were weak on the wings before our only swingman who can shoot reliably went down. And it's questionable whether Delly / MCW / Terry are capable of providing 48 minutes of high caliber play at 1 position much less having them spread out over 2.

Now I could see Vaughn and Brogdon shining for spurts but I just can't see a team with serious playoff aspirations successfully relying on guys so green to play major minutes over the course of 82 games.

Start Brogdon and have Vaughn back him up. Terry can play garbage time.

Delly/MCW
Brogdon/Vaughn
Giannis/Jabari
Jabari/Telly/Thon
Plumlee/Monroe/Henson

It'd be nice to trade Monroe or Henson for a wing though.

That's how I see it playing out as well. Delly and Malcolm being pests on the perimeter is a good look for this team. Have Plumlee protecting the rim with Giannis as free safety playing passing lanes. This team could be fun to watch defensively.

Can Brogdon start with us?

Kidd started both Vaughn and Brogdon against Bulls, which caused Point Giannis a nervous breakdown. Brog hesitated at least two times as I remember which is not a good sign. He should just let it fly... so his opponent starts to think that he is confident to hit em. If he is not shooting good I am torn if it is better to start MCW and let Brog bring the ball up with the backups where he would be more comfortable. In fact MCW fills more comfortable with the starters too.

To get out of this mind loop ... I prefer Terry to start as our SG....

Monroe/Plumlee
Giannis/Tele
Jabari/Beasley
3+d from trade/Brogdon
Della/serviceable real pg from trade

Maybe we could trade Henson + MCW + Vaughn and get a 3+d 2 like Ross and a serviceable real pg. That would balance the roster nicely.
