OT: game food

Post#1 » by Pachinko_ » Tue Nov 29, 2016 11:50 pm

Lets engage in some cultural exchange, what are your favourite game nibblies in your part of the world?

Here in Australia my favourite is a couple of ham & cheese sandwiches with white bread and a side of twisties with some tomato sauce

I'd normally have a bitter as well but due to the time diff it's usually too early for that so I just stick with filtered coffee.

back in Greece I used to just order souvlakia (this is the plural of souvlaki)
I Australia I avoid them because they tend to make them with lamb or chicken to accommodate all the different religions and their dietary restrictions, which totally ruins it IMO. Proper souvlaki meat is at least 70% pork belly.

Ever since Kidd came aboard, I eat these like candy during games.

Twisties look like the mutant spawn of popcorn and packing peanuts.

Bitter.......what part of Aus are you from. Never heard a beer referred to as bitter around here.

And there is nothing wrong with Twisties and tomato sauce. Now my kids dipping chips into ice cream

For me in Germany, where most games (~80%) start at 1-3 am, some coffee helps to stay awake (during Giannis's FTA or Jabari's interviews another cup is needed though :D, in case of Kidd'S experiments a switch to hard alcohol is often obligatory). In the joyous occasion that the game is around 11pm (like the one against the Nets in BKN), then I try to have late dinner and have something nice like, Pulled pork sandwich, souvlaki (both usually homemade from scratch buns, pita inclusive) and pair with a nice beer. In some cases I might pick up a Lambic from the cellar and pair with an assortment of cheese and cold cuts.

I thought that's where you were headed :D
It's on the bottom rung of the beer ladder though.
