2017 Off Season Thread - Trades and Free Agents
I've seen a bunch of people talking about how the Bucks need to be targeting a superstar point guard to get this team to be a legit contender. I'm not really sure that's the most critical addition to chase for a variety of reasons, such as cost, usage (ball dominant traditional PG takes the ball out of Giannis' hands), and the idea that 32/33 year old CP3 is the name I've heard most.
So, what say you, Real GM's? What does your ISPG look like? What primary skills do you believe the ISPG should bring to the table?
I think our ISPG has to be able to run off screens and be proficient at hitting catch and shoot 3s, be an effective ball handler, can create for his teammates (good court vision and spacial awareness) and on defense should be able to keep his man in front of him or if he gets beat at least be able to fight through traffic to route his man into Giannis and Thon.
A very rich man's version of Delly?
Who is that man going to be?
Who is the ISPG of the future?!

Mike Conley.
He costs a lot, and would take a ton to get, but I think it would probably be worth it if the Grizzlies blow it up.

I really like Conley. I don't see it happening but I'd love it. We had our shot at him in the past.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I changed the title, we can talk about all the moves you want/wish to make this summer, including PG.

Super Delly would be a pretty damn good player. Imagine Delly with better tools (more length, better athleticism) and with a quicker jumpshoot motion. Delly is not bad at running the PnR but he can't finish at the rim and only has a floater to bail him out. On the catch he sometimes struggles due to his jumpshot motion having to bring the ball all down first before going all the way up. This gives the defender more time to recover and thus Delly can't always get his shot off and has to drive. If he could finish at the rim at a somewhat decent efficiency and always shoot those open 3's + not only be a scrappy but a good defender that would be a hell off a player.
I've got some hope for Brogdon to become that player, but his jumper mechanics are not letting him shoot unless wide open. Also don't think that is fixable.

CP3 and it really isn't close. If we somehow landed Chris Paul we would be contenders for the next 3 years at least.
All of that stagnant offense we saw all season.......CP3 comes in and just takes over the offense and we all of a sudden have shots being created for people and easy slash opportunities for Giannis.
Pitch CP3 and see if he is about winning or about money.

I'd sign CP3 in a heartbeat if he was serious about coming here.
Bledsoe and Hill could be realistic targets. I'd test the waters on rubio too.

Paul is about money. If I were a betting man, I'd bet a good amount that he's going to stay with the Clippers.

Ibaka instead of Moose?
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

Hill? No thanks.
He's old and not that great of a facilitator. I'd rather go after Bledsoe or Teague.

I know it won't happen, and I don't hate Kidd as much as many, but it might be time to try someone else at the helm.
I'd be a big fan of trying to lure away someone like Ron Adams or Ettore Messina. We have plenty of appeal for a well-respected assistant looking for their first head coaching gig.

Re: 2017 Off Season Thread
If Moose opts in we are over $100 million next year. We aren't doing squat unless we clear salary. That means getting picks only for Henson/Tele. I don't see that happening. Best case is getting back trash with a shorter contract.
Just PLEASE don't overpay for Snell and PLEASE don't sign Moose to a mega long term deal. Thank you.

We get a new coach only if Kidd decides to leave. LED aren't making a change.

3. A team can never have too many wings.
Jonathan Tjarks: The Bucks raced out to a 2–1 series lead against the Raptors by starting four wings together, and Toronto regained control of the series by swapping out their starting center (Jonas Valanciunas) for another wing (Norman Powell). Threes are playing as 4s across the league: The Celtics are starting Jae Crowder as a small-ball power forward, and the Jazz are finishing games with Joe Johnson at that spot. You can never have too many Swiss army knives in your rotation these days, which is one of the main reasons why the Warriors are such overwhelming favorites to win it all.

I like Adams but he will be 70 in November. And it's odd he's never been offered a head coaching gig in the NBA. Messina is interesting.

Eh, I think Kidd could be convinced to take a different role within the organization.
Give him Feigin's job. Fine with me.

I'd be fine with Kidd getting bumped "up" to Feigin's job (supposedly he'll leave once the new arena opens) but I DON'T want him being POBO or any job where he is a decision maker on the basketball side. Let him do sponsor lunches and talk to the press like Feigin does, that's fine.
