Love seeing Giannis celebrating on the sidelines for his brother. So cool he goes up to Oshkosh.

It's so perfect having Alex with the herd.

30 points in 26 minutes last night. They need to get him on a 2 year 2 way soon. He's an amazing shooting big.

*If Jontay's healthy*

He was one of my biggest draft crushes ever. Love his game.

1) Giannis was drawing up plays at the Herd game at the end, as if he was the coach. They never used them.
2) Jontay is NBA worthy on the offensive end, but they continue to take him out for defensive reasons at the end of games. He could be Nwora lite, although I think he is more of a pure shooter than Nwora. But if you can't stay on the floor on defense for the Herd, it's doubtful a team will want him.

He had a major knee injuries he's still recovering from. He'll look different physically in 3 months, and especially in a year.

The Herd are trying to limit his minutes for now, but they've been significantly better defensively with Porter on than off.

With a 9'1" standing reach, and his intelligence, he could develop in to an average NBA defender if his knee ever heals, allowing him to regain mobility.

I worry about Jontay defending in space, but he's always been a good rebounder and shot blocker. His offense is legit.

While not perfect facsimiles, Jontay and Mamu are very similar players.

I think Jontay is similar to Portis, both in build and style. Jontay is a better passer, Portis has better energy and durability. Jontay isn't there yet, because he's hardly played basketball. Only 3 years of HS ball, part of a college season, and part of a pro season.

Who is less of a defensive liability, Jontay or Mamu?

Is Jontay less of a tweener than Mamu? Does he project as a stretch 5 or a 4?

Simlar sizes but Jontay may have better defensive instincts.

They both are good shooters, although Jontay is much better and has a very quick release.

They both are decent rebounders.

Mamu can attack the basket. Not sure about Jontay, although in the games I've watched, he rarely attacks the basket. Everything is set up to get his jump shot off.

Mamu has a good handle for his size. Not sure about Jontay.

In terms of defense, I need to see more, but the Herd coach must have seen enough in order to platoon him.
He's just hard to keep off the court with near elite shot making, at least at this level. He's also shooting and rebounding better than he has in the last three years, so there may be some truth to the fact that his health is improving.

I'm just relieved that they took Badji instead of Porter.

He definitely seems like the equivalent of a baseball player who puts up good numbers at AAA but isn't quite cut out for the big leagues.
