TA was like you gotta sign now so you make more over your next two extensions.
Giannis is already planning out his contracts through age 37. He’s 28…
TA has a roster spot for life. What a time to be a Bucks fan.

Not trying to be silly about this, but I see this all the time. People will often place personal testimony over empirical, evidence based advice.
Hell, it's why people place stock in Google reviews or ask for opinions in Facebook

To be clear, Thanasis doesn't have to be on the roster to provide brotherly advice. He could easily be doing this from a position in the FO!
They want to play together. It's that simple.

In regards to that Bobby Marks video(I'm begging someone to tell me how to copy/paste other's posts - my tablet doesn't allow for traditional copy/paste method) two things:
1) I read the best basketball article about 2 years ago re: Giannis. It was incredibly well written and researched. It was so good I made a mental note to remember its author - Bobby Marks. I had no idea at the time who he was. 2) Bobby must live in a cave if he's not aware of what his brethren(talking heads) have been saying about Giannis Every time his contract is to expire within 2 years. It's all about "he's leaving Milwaukee. He can't win there. How good would he look next to Steph? Imagine him in Miami with Bam and The Barista. The Knicks are clearing cap space for '25. How dominant would he and Embid be? Imagine him with LeBron and AD." Heck, he can just go listen to the last two times Windbag was asked about Giannis and both times he said "Giannis would go elsewhere because the CBA was making it impossible to build dynasties."
Oops, wrong again.

Re: GIANNIS SIGNS 3 YEAR, $186 MILLION EXTENSION
It was mentioned on a recent LOB podcast and I'd like to take a moment to continue on it.
The bucks were the #1 seed going into the bubble and unceremoniously dumped in 5 by the heat.
Embarrassed and with high expectations the bucks suddenly had a lot of questions. Like will giannis sign his extension? Do the bucks have enough to contend?
Giannis reiterates he needs to see management commit.
Horst delivers jrue. Giannis then signs the extension. 7 months later bucks win a championship.
Now... #1 seed with high expectations, embarrassingly bounced by the heat. Do they have enough to contend? Giannis says in the media bucks need to show commitment to winning.
Ahem
Horst delivers dame.
Then Giannis signs extension.
We only need to wait 7-8 months to see if history repeats.
Thank you Miami Heat for forcing the bucks to upgrade when needed.

I've always been a huge supporter of Thanasis as the 15th roster spot. He's actually better than most 15th guys he just doesn't have any growth potential.
Not only for that reason, but of course because he makes Giannis happy, and he's clearly a calming force for Giannis out there. This is the cherry on top.

Here is another beauty. By tomorrow him signing will probably be a negative. Man are these guys upset about this
Oh, it already was. I saw "they now have two players making over 60 mil a year, good luck" and "Does it really matter? Giannis can force his way out whenever he wants" repeatedly.

I dont totally disagree, but we have seen KD, Dame and others sign contracts and demand trades almost immediately since the Embiid article. It is a different world out there today......But I love this world where we have Giannis under contract for years to come

The Embiid article was written months after his now current teammate (Harden) demanded a trade with 3-years still left on his max contract. Is it a different world since *checks notes* two months ago?

Giannis Antetokounmpo sounds more excited to play in Saudi Arabia than Milwaukee

This is what the Lakers do though. They take care of their stars, with the knowledge that if it doesn’t pan out, big names will still want to come there no matter how abysmal the situation. Like the many beautiful inhabitants who make up LA, the Lakers always manage to land on their feet.

Re: GIANNIS SIGNS 3 YEAR, $186 MILLION EXTENSION
Among contemporary players I think Steph, Giannis, Dame, Embiid and some may disagree with me on this one but also Westbrook are guys that had no interest in leaving the teams that drafted them. In the case of Giannis and Steph, the teams did what it takes to make them stay, in the case of Dame and Westbrook their future and the team's future was no longer aligned and Embiid has done whatever it takes to make it work and if he eventually asks out its a failing of that team.

Do I think there is an Anti-Milwaukee Bias? Absolutely. Do I think there is some truth to those articles? Yes. A contract means less than it did 2 years ago. Harden and AD where chastised for being too demanding whereas KD and Dame was more "meh" and new way of doing business/player empowerment. It can be both. Like if it was anyone but Giannis, I would agree the contract means very little besides a little extra leverage in trade negotiations.
