There were a lot of people who picked James Madison to win that game. I wouldn’t say they caught Wisconsin, they exposed them.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
In terms of recent history 12-5 losses, I think that JMU team kinda sucked and the Badgers played like ass. The way the game was called early on didn’t help.
The Oregon game 5 years ago was a really good team that was underseeded due to a rough start.

No ill will, but he won't exactly be missed. No basketball skills for D1 if his shot isn't falling.

He started out so promising and may still find it back but he was underwhelming every chance he got this year. I hope he winds up somewhere that doesn't matter to the badgers and finishes his college days out strong.
only a fan, only an opinion

He was so good last year I don’t understand what happened. I bet he blows up.

For the first 2-3 months he shot well.
After that, I’m guessing teams figured out how to get in his face better. He dipped to sub-30% the final months. He still scored later in the season but it was inefficiently on not a great team.

Yeah, I feel like the hot stretch was the outlier.
Best of luck to him and hope he re-discovers his form.

Gard ruined the kid.
He will succeed elsewhere for sure.

This is by far the dumbest narrative that people keep circulating.

Ruined his shot like they did with Wahl and others. Wahl could shoot in HS.

I look forward to Wahl getting a shot in the league or a high-end Euro League if so. Just like Nigel Hayes would be fixed by another team/program.

Way too late for Wahl. It's been gone for 5 years. Ethan Happ is a another good HS shooter they destroyed.

This is really something. You'd think a professional coach paid millions of dollars could look at the tape from high school and get them to shoot like they did in high school.
Or maybe, you know, these guys just aren't great shooters.

Wahl has never had any sort of touch. I mean, the guy consistently misses shots at the rim. It's just not in his wheelhouse and his FTs are a prime example of this.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Imagine shooting a basketball your entire life and then blaming a head coach for "messing up your shot" just because it doesn't translate going up against D-1 athletes. Would be a pretty embarrassing/mental midget thing to believe if you're a competitive basketball player at any level. Some guys just can't shoot against better competition.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
After saying all of that - I do think Essegian in a different environment where he gets more open shots against lesser competition/a little older, etc. could be a marksman. We've actually seen him do it. So I do think that can happen - but he doesn't do much else on the court.
Maybe.
The other guys are LOL though.
