I've created a separate thread as a leadup for the Indy series. Please use that to discuss that series. All other Bucks talk should remain here. Thanks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I agree with him that it would have been wrong to trade him after he sacrificed money for the team's benefit. Not a good look for the organization, especially after the backlash from the Jrue trade.

It might be an irrational response since it's a business, and the front office needs to do what's best for the team, but perception among the players matters. Glad that rumor never came to fruition...especially for a downgrade like Grant Williams.

Had a feeling this would be a wild news week and it's not disappointing so far. The idea that the Pistons are sniffing around Horst gives credence to my pet theory of this coming offseason, which is that Doc will be elevated and a new, cheaper coach brought in. Like my theory from last year (Jrue gone), I don't feel awesome about it.

If Horst leaves, I hope and pray doc decides to go back to TV. Bring in a fresh GM with fresh ideas and hope they know how to draft better than the current regime.

Horst drafts off the top of my head

Donte-very good player

Mamu-solid player
Nwora-solid player
Merril-solid player
AJ Green-solid player

Marjon-dud
Ajax-dud
DJ Wilson-dud

Not bad considering the late picks he has had. Horst hate is overblown, there needs to be more of a discussion on GM Giannis doing his best LeBron impression. Looking at you Khris and Brook.

Are mamu and Nwora actually solid players?

Detroit should bring Reggie Hammonds back home okay this works if John Hammond was rumored to be on the Piston's want-list and if Reggie Hammond was the Eddie Murphy character from Beverly Hills Cop problem being that Horts is the potential GM candidate and Axel Foley was the expatriate Detroiter in the aforementioned movie and not 48 Hours still this is a good time to experiment in the lab prior to Sunday's tip off some things when hurled toward the wall find suction and alas some things do not go Bucks.

I'll just agree to disagree. I guess putting up some type of numbers on bottom feeders constitutes solid player but I'm not sure they're contributing on contenders.

Giannis is only going to end up with one championship here because Horst couldn’t get one good, young rotation player in all his drafts. The only player he ever drafted that ended up above average really blossomed after Horst traded him for a corpse. I wouldn’t be that upset if he leaves. I don’t think he’s bad, but I don’t think he’s good. He’s on his fourth coach and he only has a championship because he inherited Giannis and Middleton.

I think Horst is a good GM. Not as good a GM as Bud is a coach. Both guys share responsibility for the botched dunk of re-signing PJ to the 2/16 deal they'd agreed upon.

It's funny that BP says trading for Grant Williams didn't sound right, because that's what I thought when I read it here. I thought there's no way this is a thing.

And yet, a few down games by BP and posters were "hell ya".

Instead of "me and Bobby McGee" it's "me and BP".

1. I was on the "trade Bobby for an upgrade" train and I'm really glad we didn't. For this team as currently constructed, Grant Williams wasn't helping us. Bobby has been awesome recently. This Indiana series is a big one for him, hopefully he shows out.

2. The Horst news is super interesting. I think the organization would maybe like a change in that position anyway. If Horst does leave, I'm sure people would frame it as, "He sees the writing on the wall and wants to leave early". But in reality, I bet the Pistons just throw a massive bag at him and it's a Monty-Williams-offer that he can't refuse.

Getting someone in who could look at the roster with fresh and unbiased eyes could be a good change of pace for this team. Horst has done a good job but not a great one. You need a great GM at the helm with a player like Giannis in the building. But we shall see. It definitely adds a wrinkle to a big offseason coming up.

The Horst thing doesn't just come out of nowhere. Either Horst or the Bucks let this slip.

The question is whether this is Horst feeling the hot seat, and floating a rumor that he's in demand (i.e. leverage for a new deal).

OR

Possible writing on the wall that Jimmy Haslam wants someone else.

Or this could be nothing. But it doesn't feel that way.

Trying to balance out the depressing thoughts of POBO Doc being in charge of the last years of Giannis' prime with the slightly uplifting thoughts of him vacating the coach's seat for next season...
