Charlie Villanueva for TJ Ford?

Post#1 » by random_hero891 » Sun Jun 8, 2008 2:35 pm

Raptors fan here, just wondering how many people would do a trade back at this point in time, as it seems to meet the needs of both teams relatively well.

TJ Ford + plateauing play + injury + contract + attitude + drug issues = not worth it

Neither player is the answer. The trade wouldn't improve the Bucks, so I don't think it's worth it.

Drug issues? This is the first I'm hearing of that, care to elaborate?

You really think BOTH teams are about ready to say "Whoops, my bad" and do a re-do?

Not a chance in hell.

The crack pipe, weed, and weed room in his Milwaukee condo when the Milwaukee NARC squad executed a warrant to search it. A warrant presumably obtained with evidence against Ford as to doing something bigger than just smoking weed.

Then the continual necessity to have Jon Lucas, famed drug abusing PG and guru to athlete addicts, follow him around the NBA.

I thought that it was linked to his brother but either way to have stuff like that going on in a place that you own does not help your credibility much.

You typically don't get a warrant to search someone else's condo, unless you think that someone else is an accessory to a crime. And the NARC squad would only get involved if something big was going down.

It's great having a US Senator as team owner so this stuff just blows over.

If TJ wasn't paid so much and wasn't so selfish I'd say he could be one of the better backup PGs in the league. Unfortunatly his ego is bigger than his inflated salary and will always be that way.

If that wasn't clear I voted no

Mid pretty much nailed it. Too much baggage for T.J.

This trade is a no brainer for the Bucks to accept.

Being in Hawaii, at least he's close to the Toronto situation.

You are correct. I'm as un-bias as a judge before a trial.

I'd actually support this if the other moves were lined up to remake the team. The other caveat is I'd like to know what else is out there for CV. (if a Garcia trade was an option, I'd rather do that)

I do think TJ could help us get back to the playoffs if he could actually play 82 games. CV could help Toronto with scoring.

I voted a most reluctant No. Because of the past baggage. And the probable attitude TJ would bring back with him. But then, Ford's troubles with past managements were with folks who are gone and not missed.

So perhaps it's another of those situations where if TJ should happen to want to be here, should welcome playing for Skiles, should willingly volunteer to lead the team toward team ball (and if Skiles can make the defense work with him), then maybe, maybe... if that's the best out there.

I am curious, though, to watch CV playing under Skiles. Still don't think he should be marked down to clearance prices.

cv is a good guy...does a lot for the community, and can be a stud when he actually tries

tj's a self-centered loser that thinks he's the best player in the L...when he's just.....not

Id do the trade. Then Id trade Ford for something else. Simply put, Ford has more value then CV.

Maybe. According to a thread on the Raps board, Colangelo is getting insulting offers for Ford.
