I really doubt they want Redd this bad.
Why not keep their picks and put young talent around a pretty good nucleus (Miller, Igoudala, Dalembert)?

The last player I remember being dealt for three first rounders was Chris Webber. Or did Joe Johnson get the same package? I'm not sure.
Regardless, I'm sold.

Miller's not apart of their nucleus. Most of their more rational fans are hoping they deal him now while his value is at its highest.

The 3 guys you just listed are 31, 27, 24. That isn't that young. The reason why they were labeled a "young" team is their bench is comprised of young guys who aren't very good (besides Young).
With Detroit about to blow up their team, Boston is going to be a year older, and no one else is any good; this might be a great time for them to strike.
Another thing to consider is none of the picks we would be getting would be lottery picks. 6ers aren't really mortgaging their future in this deal. They would still have Young and Iggy going forward.

I always like this deal. Then you realize the Sixers can just use that cap space to sign Shawn Marion outright, without giving up anything. Draft another shooting guard then.

How likely is that though? I suppose you could see another Rashard Lewis deal. If the 6ers feel like the FA market isn't very good or strike out, I could see them interested in Redd. He is exactly what the 6ers need.
Maybe instead of the 3 first round picks, we could just get the better of the 09 picks. Would 2 pics in the teens be enough for you guys?

Re: Redd to 6ers (No Young)
I would move Redd to Philly for any # of deals but my guess is they will go forward with Iguodala at 2 and Young at 3 and bring in a 4. That said I don't move Yi unless it is a deal that knocks our socks off. If they did want Redd I think it would have to be for 16, Carney, and hopefully a future protected. With Miller getting up there in age I think they should bring in a few vets, move Carney and their pick and be a contender next year.

I certainly wouldn't be dancing in the streets or bestowing a bunch of praise on Hammond though.
It's like taking three huge dumps on your kitchen floor, then cleaning up one of them.

I do not think a Rashard deal is needed nor warranted for Marion. But I'd be inclined to believe that if the Sixers offered Marion a 4-year contract for $60 million ($15mm per) he'd jump all over that. I'm not sure any team does that though for Marion. Some of those news reports from Miami indicate Pat Riley is thinking 4-years/$40mm or even less for a Marion new contract should he opt out.
The Sixers can afford that deal if they can also then lock up Iggy for a reasonable number. Iggy plays SG. Your forward position is well covered with Marion/Thad Young/Reggie Evans.
I just see that scenario playing out if Philly really wants to use their cap space and keep their draft picks. But then again, that's what I'd do if I were the 76'ers.
