Rudy Fernandez Makes Dunk Contest

Post#1 » by oshmeehan » Sun Jan 18, 2009 10:49 pm

Well, someone had posted this on here on Thursday that Rudy was going to be the one to make it. This is just B.S., he'll crash and burn in the contest

I guess here's hoping that the report is wrong?

I don't care the Rudy is really in it. I just think Gay and Nate Robinson being in it again is stupid.

Rigged. If Joe Alexander played for New York, Boston, LA, or any other big market he would've made it. Or if he was Euro...

I guess here is hoping that one of the 4 guys in the contest gets injured right before it or just simply pulls out of the contest for some reason

Too bad. Joe would have been more competitive.

wouldn't all those things mean he would get more votes, and thus, it would not be rigged?

Yeah, there won't be anything on NBA.com until tomorrow since that is when the official winner is announced

Haha the sillhouete for the 4th dunker does look like Joe's though, which is probably just a coincidence, or they just used his cause they had to use someones

There is a good chance that Rudy Fernandez will put on a showing that rivals Birdman's and Nate Robinson's in terms of awfulness. I hope that guy just gets dominated.

No surprise here. Stern wanted Rudy in. The "vote" was a joke.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

As the game gets bigger globally and less popular here this is only the beginning. If Rudy becomes one of the better players in the league he's going to get alot of all-star votes in the future too. Let me rephrase that. Basketball isn't getting less popular here in the U.S., its just its behind both baseball and football. Watch in a couple of years the all-star game will be U.S. vs International. Maybe even in the future the Finals winner will face the best Euro team in a 7 game series. Basketball is going to be the most popular sport around the globe soon enough.

If I wanted to watch a guy who can only jump off one foot and can't palm a basketball completing a series of ordinary dunks off lobs I'd go down to my local courts.

The effort was deserving. The videos were quite entertaining, better than anything Rudy did. 'Put in the effort, but come up short.' That type of thinking. 8-)
