Lineup for 2011

Post#1 » by TNBT » Sun Jul 11, 2010 2:34 pm

The site that I am looking at right now has these lines for this team:

Cammalleri - Gomez - Gionta
Moen - Plekanec - Lapierre
Pyatt - Eller - Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Boyd - White

As for defensemen, it doesn't have any pairings listed.

So my question to you guys is what line combinations and defensive pairings do you want to see happen, and that you expect to happen?

So as I said in my post above, the site I was looking at had Cammalleri on the 1st line and Pouliot on the 4th line. However, I was just reading some articles on the Habs official website and I found this:

“The trade was definitely a positive thing for me,” declared Pouliot, who spent the majority of the season alongside Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta.

So even though this other site has him on the 4th line, he has actually been playing on the 1st line? This is why I'm confused. I need you guys who actually get to see the games to tell me what lines we actually use.

I would assume the line-up would be:

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Moen - Eller - Lappy
Pyatt - Boyd - White

Extra Attacker - Darche

Subban - Markov
Hamrlik - Spacek
Gill - Gorges

Extra Dman - O'Byrne

I like those lines. I don't think any Habs fan really wants to see Moen, Eller, Lapierre, Pyatt, Boyd or White in the top two lines if possible. I like the idea of putting Kostitsyn on a scoring line, rather than the 3rd or 4th line which is where I had him listed. I know he's frustrating, but the guy really is talented. I think that if both he and Pouliot bust their asses over the off-season and come back motivated, our team is going to go a long way. We pretty much know what we can expect from the other guys, so those two stand out to me as the big difference makers between us being the same as last season and us possibly being a much better team.
