So it’s been done 14 times in 43 years.

That’s not a “standard”, it’s making history.

The standard does not mean it's standard for a player to get it. Another meaning of the word.

“The standard” is another way to make that distinction. The English language is full of those weird little dual meaning terms :(.

The Standard that I was talking about is if you hit that you can be considered a great shooter. It doesn't mean you have to hit it to be considered a great shooter.

The standard usually is short for the gold standard. Another way to phrase is it is the best available metric. Whereas a standard procedure or practice is common and therefore unremarkable. Anyone who is 50/40/90 has done something elite, it is the elite standard by which all great shooters are judged.

Let’s compromise. Ant played like ass in the first quarter. In Q 2-4 he played like his ass was lit on fire.

Ant started the game 0-4. I'm sure most of us were thinking here we go again. However, show a little faith in him rather than calling him ass IMO.

I agree. Whenever I watch the games with my dad he always has these very emotional blow ups in the first talking about how much we suck and we regressed, ect… then my brother and I explain that there are 3 quarters left and we are a better 2nd and 3rd quarter team. Then we win and he says, whoops kinda overreacted there. I call it Minnesota syndrome. The Vikings are doing an excellent job of stinking things up and keeping our general expectations low.

I didn’t call Ant ass, nor do I think it is appropriate. Yet, to plat peacemaker, I suggested a compromise ;)

He meant to type “assassin” but bumped the “submit post” button early, cheering his fifth straight three.
