Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
As the trade is structured I say no. However, it could be made into a 3 team trade. Prince has no value to us, but there are contenders that would value him, so maybe a 3 team deal would work. Early in the year it would have been a definite no, but Al Jefferson is just killing his value.
Maybe a 3 team with Det/Mem like this:
MN gets Det pick, Rudy Gay (sign and trade)
Det gets Jefferson
Mem gets Prince, Sessions (their cap space makes up difference)
I think we could sign Sergio Rodriguez this summer as a cheap backup to replace Sessions. He's restricted, but the Knicks wouldn't waste the cap room. Plus when Rubio comes over Sergio could mentor him.

Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
I take Prince plus the pick.
Al just doesn't seem like a good fit for this offense or for the direction that Kahn and Rambis say they want to take this team. Worse, this offense as well as the positives that Milicic and Love bring to the table make Al's deficiencies stand out and probably more than they should, imo -- which lowers his trade value further.
I know there's the knee thing. I know we may be selling low right now. I just don't think we'll get a better deal by waiting to see if Al can improve his trade value ... with this system, this coach and this team, I don't see that happening -- healthy knees or not.

Dumars laughs and then hangs up the phone.
after Isiah tells him he wants to GM the Clippers.
Big Al + #15 >>>>> TP + #8-10, no way we include a good pick with him.
I don't like this trade idea. Aldrich or Johnson probably won't be there at #8-10.
If we have to trade Al I would rather target a trade with NJ (if pick #3-4), GS, UT (NY pick) or IND and make sure we can get either Johnson or Aldrich with the pick.

I'm neutral right now.
If Al shows signs that he can return to old form over the last 20 games of the season then it's a pretty obvious now but if he doesn't I'd have to think about that.
What I like about the pick is that it's high enough to steal the leftover of Aminu, Johnson, Aldrich, Whiteside and Henry.

Trading Al and getting a pick to potentially even out this roster is a huge plus. Darkos limited time here demonstrates the need for a legit big man. if we could land Turner and Aldrich I would say that in itself is a pretty good off season. Prince not sure what he would contribute... Playing two rookies a lot of minutes next year won't improve our record that much but in the long run it's a huge plus.

Your opinion in completely different from all the Piston posters on the Trade Board, who created this trade.

Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
I love big Al, but he just doesn't seem to fit here with what Kahn and Rambis want to do. I would do this trade. I would prefer to trade Al and Hollins to Utah for Kirilenko and the NYK 1st. Kirilenko is more athletic, a more disruptive defender, younger, and plays either the 3 or 4. Then I would hope and pray we some how walked away from the draft with Turner and Favors. I would also be interested in a trade for Battier and something else from Houston. Next year:
Flynn/Sessions
Turner/Ellington
(Kirilenko, Prince, or Battier)/Brewer
Love/Favors
Darko/Pekovic

Lebron James————KG

Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
I often value these type of polls as 3 points for an extreme action, 1 point for a mild, and 0 for a neutral. The current score is
5 x 3 = 15
9 x 1 = 9
5 x 0 = 0
13 x (-1) = -13
3 x (-3) = -9
+2 to keep Jefferson, which means, on average, we're pretty neutral on the deal. In fact, extreme responses are outnumbered by the milder ones 8-27 so far, so I think it shows its not a great deal, but not a horrible one either.

I voted neutral. This wouldn't be my ideal Jefferson trade but I'd probably do it if offered. TP would provide some vet leadership and perimeter D and he's an expiring. There should be somebody good at 8 (Whiteside, Monroe, Aminu, Monteijunas, Vesely) even if Aldrich and Johnson are gone.

This is my trade from a few weeks ago. Detroit posters were on board then of the pick was after 6.
I would be afraid we were selling too low, but might have to do it for the simple reason that I'm afraid his stock could fall even lower.

I voted neutral too. I'd currently lean towards doing it. If it looks like we are going to be drafting Favors or Cousins with our 1st, I think we'd have to do it. Prince would come in very handy providing some experience, defense, and veteran leadership.

Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
I'm neutral on this trade as well. If Kahn is set on dealing Jefferson this summer, it's far from the worst thing he could do, and we would almost definitely have the flexibility to make sure we come away from the draft with Turner no matter where our pick falls, and if we're able to nab Turner with our pick then we'd be in position to come away with the lotto big man of our choice. It would still feel like selling low on Jefferson.

I'd do this trade only in the following circumstance.
1) MN gets turner
2) This pick lands Monroe
I'd be on the fence if:
1) MN gets turner
2) MN can get aldrich or whiteside

I'd rather play out the whole Al Jefferson thing before we trade him. This could end up being one of the worst deals the Wolves have made in their history if Al returns to form.

I'd do it if nothing better was available (cuz I want Al off this team), but how sad would it be that Miller and Foye got us #5 while our supposed "franchise player" only gets us #8-10 + expiring?

How long would you see him staying in MN?

Why? He's on the decline and his production is mediocre. If we want a guy with championship experience as a mentor, just sign some over the hill guy for a small salary, someone like Michael Finley.

Re: POLL: Al Jefferson or Prince + #8-10
He can still play. It always helps when veterans can actually contribute on the court. At this point Michael Finley wouldn't be anything more than another coach.
