Sensei Skittles
So, I had a big post in this thread that got locked:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1064974&start=120
and my new nickname for Beas is Sensei Skittles. I could rehash what I said, but my basic point was that Sensei Skittles is clearly the energetic heart of this team, and his energy has been key to our recent momentum. He has said several times that he considers himself an assassin, never focusing on the past but focusing on the next challenge, the next opponent. Love has historically had a problem with this, which at times has lead to him not keeping his head in the game, moping, and not allowing himself to be effective. Obviously, tonight he showed the world just how effective he can be. I really think that Sensei Skittles has been instrumental in inspiring not only Kevin but the whole team to "be assassins". So, while Kevin Love made history tonight, I want to give a big shout out where a shout out is due. I was firmly on the 'just-say-no-to-SuperCoolBeas' wagon before we traded for him, but now I fully understand and appreciate the power of Sensei Skittles and his samurai haircut. He and Kevin seem to be developing some serious emotional chemistry, and if Love continues to feed off the Senei's energy and encouragement, I think we will see very little of the mopey old Kevin Love, and we will watch 2 dynamic young players show the world a thing or two.

If Beasley continues to beast, I propose his nickname be Hard Eight.

Re: Sensei Skittles
That's a pretty good one too, but I guess my point is that it doesn't matter what we call him, he's a man of many names and we could probably each have our own nickname for him and that would be fine. I will personally call him Sensei Skittles whenever his energy inspires our team. I guess my point is that this man needs an appreciation thread. And so does K Love, after many of us, including myself, were basically calling for his head. So this thread could be an appreciation thread for both of them: the ability Beas has to inspire Love and the rest of the team, and the ability Love has to destroy the Knicks and the rest of the league. I'm just so excited to see these two very very young players continue to develop. It took a while, but they are developing some serious chemistry and swagger that they both lacked without the other. Needless to say, being at that game tonight and seeing both of them absolutely beast like that has me incredibly inspired.

Oh. And I'd like to endorse Walt Frazier's reference to K Love tonight as the One Man Gang!

That is a very cool name for a jazz band.

Re: Sensei Skittles
You'll dress only in attire specially sanctioned by the Timberwolves. You'll conform to the identity we give you, eat where we tell you, live where we tell you. From now on you'll have no identifying marks of any kind. You'll not stand out in any way. Your entire image is crafted to leave no lasting memory with anyone you encounter. You're a rumor, recognizable only as deja vu and dismissed just as quickly. You don't exist; you were never even born. Anonymity is your name. Silence your native tongue. You're no longer part of the System. You're above the System. Over it. Beyond it. We're "them." We're "they." We are the Timberwolves

Why would it have to be a fetish film?

Sensei Skittles, putting his masterful grasp of Zen mindfulness into layman's terms:
"Honestly I just black out, stop thinking about everything cause when I think its...not...really...too good."

Sensei Skittles continues to unleash his teachings on this team and the entire league.

That's a fun interview. I like "When we came in here, we wanted to win 82 games straight. Obviously things aren't going as well as we expected..."
That's pretty funny!

He is an assassin. He will always want to win every single game, he will always believe that in every single game victory is possible.

I need to get to the foul line more... the game would be so much easier.

Re: Sensei Skittles
Well, Sensei Skittles has made me look like a fool. On November 12, in this unmentionable thread- viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1064974&start=120 - I predicted that Sensei Skittles would "single-handedly refuse to let the Pups lose another game by 30 or more points this entire season".
Tonight's game came down to the last possession, but a rushed miss by Sundiata Gaines left us with a 31 point loss. This came 1 day after Beas defiled his hair style, virtually pissing on his Samurai past. Is it merely a coincidence that this 31 point loss came so quickly after Beasley suddenly shed his Samurai title? I think not....
