Kahn: "No More Wholesale Changes"

Post#1 » by Dewey » Fri Feb 18, 2011 12:35 am

:o

I'd like to know what players he likes to the point he considers the rebuilding phase for Wolves complete...

Thread title change to accurately reflect Kahn's statement

I still can't believe that he believes this.

If this is a legit take, then Taylor is the clown IMO

Kahn is out of free passes in my book.

So that's the "singular move," huh.

I must confess to being a little confused.

Yeah, this might be the last pass from my book, too.

I can only imagine what happened on Kahn's wedding night.

Kahn: That was the best 60 seconds of my life.
Mrs. Kahn: You haven't even taken your pants off yet.
Kahn: Want a cigarette?
Mrs. Kahn: Are you ******* kidding me?
Kahn: zzzzzzzz

I wrote this on CH too, but...
My first reaction was to go to the Detroit Tigers SB Nation page so I could read about Miggy and feel at least a little good about the Wolves players.

But then I got to thinking, is it possible Kahn is just pulling a McHale pre-Love/Mayo deal? They came out and said Mayo would stay here… then made the second best trade in MN sports history imo (behind the AJ for Liriano trade).

For all we know Kahn has a deal close to being in place and the other team(s) won’t completely bite because they think they can "kahn" (see what I did there) David out of more pieces for less, so for once instead of over reacting (I’m sure other GMs took him even less seriously after he said he WAS going to make a trade before the deadline) he is simply stating that we will roll with the players we got and won’t overpay for someone… I know I will probably be disappointed, but it’s to be expected when you root for MN sports teams, so I remain optimistic that this is the case.

We have no players that any other team wants not named Love or Beasley. Or rather, there is no one on the roster not named Love or Beasley that teams will offer anything of quality for.

"Done rebuilding" probably means "Can't get a deal done."

I've been mostly happy with DKahn's moves, but now he's in a position where the play of the players we have has severely limited his ability to make any improvements. Or is there somebody on our roster that you would trade for?

If we don't see positive results next year or if Rubio somehow doesn't pan out, I can no longer back him up.

David Kahn. Always one step ahead of the game.

Honestly, this is another PR move by the former PR man. He's trying to show fans that he doesn't have to make a move, because the team is just fine the way it is.

In reality, as another fan said, he can't get any big moves done. Better to act like you are in control than to show that you are in a position of weakness.

Seems like Wolves fans are a little too smart for this "Kahn-ery" after witnessing it for two years now. That's good to see.

The trade deadline is still on the 24th, so theoretically something could still happen. I'm not going to lose faith just yet. Save me Ricky Rubio, your my only hope.

do you think Brewer is the only player he is interested in trading or would he trade one of the players he brought in? Or would that be "Kahn-ibalistic"?

I honestly don't think Rubio will be much of anything to scream home about for another 2-4 years. However people are going to give him an endless rope becasue they are just happy that he resigned to come play here.
