Who are the Center Options if we deal Pek?
If we sign-and-trade Pek, I'm just curious who's out there that is:
1. available
2. a fit financially
3. fits with Love's game?

what are the sign and trade rules now, I don't even know - ie how much salary would we be taking back if we sign and trade and who can take him back? I thought I heard theres some strict cap rules or something w/ s&t now

My favorite trade would be Williams, Ridnour, Steamer for Okafor & Seraphin.

Shrink's #2 criteria was a fit financially. Gasol for sure does not meet that criteria, and likely Okafor also.

Congrats on your 1st and1 Biff. I concur. Pek + 9 to Bucks for Sanders and 15 - Unlikely but one can wish.

Pek can only be sign&traded in July after the draft. So you can't include this years draft picks.

I depends how much salary you send out in a trade for them.
For instance if you trade AK, Ridnour for Gasol, while not taking back any salary in Pek's sign&trade than you can afford even Gasol. But with his health is he even worth it?

Congrats on your 1st and1 Biff.
When did these and1s start? I didn't post much on here during the season. Is that saying you agree with what the person said?

I don't see the Lakers trading Gasol for AK and Ridnour, but I guess something like that could happen if the Buss' are desparate to get out of lux payments for 2013-14 while still keeping as much space available for 2014-15 as possible. I see your point even if I don't agree with it. Would much prefer us just paying Pek than go this route.

They started a few months ago and, yes, it means you agree with the post.

Yeah, it "works" but that's too much to give up for him, which is basically saying he's too expensive. I love his fit but we can't ignore the $20M price tag even if it is just for one year.

Gortat and Asik are really the only palatable options for me and I don't think Asik is a very realistic option. Let's just pay Pek and be done with it.

Both are expiring contracts. How does that not fit?

Re: Who are the Center Options if we deal Pek?
There are some pretty good center prospects in the draft. We could go with one of them in the draft (Len, Zeller, Olynyk, Adams, Gobert, Plumlee, Dieng, Noguiera, Withey), and follow up with signing two of Steemer, Zaza, Kaman, Blatche, Mozgov, Dalembert, Jefferson, Splitter, Maxiel, etc. to reasonable 1-2 year deals. Might not be horrible if we can get someone like Batum in a S&T for Pek.
I'd still much prefer just re-signing Pek though and then work to shore up our wing shooting problems.

Honestly, in this era of small ball, Kevin can play center if we can land a rim protecting inside orientated PF.

I guess Big Al could be an option.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
