Re: Lakers @ Wolves
Parson's cap hold next summer is minimal, and Beverly will still be on the rookie pay scale. They can sign Love, then pay Parsons.
Beverly/Harden/Parsons/Love/Howard + rookie scale guys and ring chasers looks like a super team to me. Plus we all know Love really likes McHale. Looks way better than anything the Knicks or Lakers could reasonably assemble.

Parsons is a free agent a year before Love.

No he's not. They have a team option on him for next season.

Thats a lot of salary, I doubt they want to pay all those guys.

Well, they were in the black last season by nearly $64 million, so I'd say they have plenty of room to expand payroll. Meanwhile our team lost 2.7 million.

I don't buy that they are going to cut into their profit.

Championship teams tend to generate more revenue.

New York is definitely the team I would worry about most.

I may be in the minority but I think Love/Melo is a terrible pairing.

Minority?!
Seeing how crappy Stoudemire/Melo looks already, one would just say for every single volume scoring PF that they would suck in pair with Melo. Somebody like Davis, bottom line like Nene Hilario, that would rock defense and offense and glue team together would be awesome with Melo. But not Love, not Stoudemire, not Aldridge, not Griffin. Actually every PF guy that has too much hands on the ball on Knicks roster is unwelcome addition to the Melo Knicks.

Re: Lakers @ Wolves
They would only need to find defenders and shooters to fill out the team. Love's passing and scoring combined with Melo's scoring would be insane.

If they have the cap space to sign Love they can't be that close to that point.

It's not just signing Love though. It's having Howard and Harden. Then signing Love and Resigning Parsons. That 3 max contracts and another 10+ million for Parsons. Then the rest of their roster.

They don't have to resign Parsons, and 3 max contracts has been done before.

Pretty sure Parsons was one if the main factors for the Howard signing. Highly doubt he would want them to let him walk. It just doesn't seem like the match that others are making it out to be.
New York with Jackson and Melo recruiting. Resign Chandler for cheap (Love's friend). Plus the big city appeal of New York.

And then there's always the possibility of Love leaving money on the table. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed for 12-13 million/year just to finally play on a contender but there's no evidence to back up my gut feeling.

Yea I don't see that. After how upset he was after not getting the final year on his previous deal I doubt he is going to take that kind of pay cut, when he could get max money from other teams that put him in contention.

Re: Lakers @ Wolves
I think it's more about the years than about the annual amount of money but it's just a gut feeling.
