Dreamer's Thread
Post your most ridiculous trades and starting lineups for the Wolves next season. The best case scenarios are usually favorable LOL. Also try to keep it within reason (i.e Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, LBJ, Love, Howard) can't be one lol. Good Luck!
My personal scenario is kind of a rebuild based on the Celtics pick and us getting really lucky lol.
#13 turns to #3
Kevin Martin to CHA for #24 and Gary Harris drops to #24
Boston trades us Sully and #1 and #17 for Love, Budinger, Barea and we get waivable contracts and TPE
Coach Joerger joins MIN
Ricky Rubio / Zach LaVine
Marcus Smart / Corey Brewer / #24 (Gary Harris)
Andrew Wiggins / Shabazz Muhammed
Gorgui Dieng / Jared Sullinger
Nikola Pekovic / Ronny Turiaf
I personally like teams with really young athletic backcourts that play hardcore defense. And front courts that grit and grind (i.e. Pekovic)

I guess lol. Thought it would be nice to have a thread with this environment where because all trades are already deemed ridiculous there can't be any hate for those posts.
A personal rant thread? Kind of? I dunno, I also really wanted to post my trade despite the fact I knew it was 2K crazy LOL

Re: Dreamer's Thread
My dream lottery scenario is we win #1 and trade Love for #5. We take Wiggins #1, Vonleh #5 and Zach Lavine(Or Stauskas if he's gone) at #17.
Rebuilding championship core of:
Rubio/Lavine
Wiggins/Lavine
Bazz
Vonleh
Dieng
We then find a way to get rid of JJ and Martin.

How do the Wolves get the #13 pick, if they win the lottery?

Whoops I meant #17 from Boston.

Kevin Love for Lebron James. Some other minor deals to balance the roster.

I'm hoping that's back on the table. I'd even be willing to take Bennett from them.

Re: Dreamer's Thread
My dream would be the same as C.Lupus' except we'd also trade for Durant.
Realistically, either Love fully commits to re-signing/extending before the draft, or Minnesota trades Love and Budinger to Boston for the 6th pick, Sullinger, Joel Anthony, Brandon Bass in one trade and Martin for their Paul Pierce TPE and the better of their 2016 pick or Brooklyn's 2016 in another.
Minnesota then goes forward with:
C - N.Pekovic/ G.Dieng/ R.Turiaf
PF- A.Gordon(#6)/ J.Sullinger
SF- C.Brewer/
SG- S.Muhammad/ N.Stauskas(#13)
PG- R.Rubio/ R.Sessions (MLE)
With A.Shved, J.J.Barea, L.R.Mbah a Moute, J.Anthony, and B.Bass as expirings to upgrade the SF position and fill up the third string spots.

Re: Dreamer's Thread
You want a dream? I'll give you a dream.
Wolves keep love and use the off season to aqcuire some shooters that can also play a little defense. Even if they can't pull that off we field a starting line-up of Rubio-Kmart-Bud-Love-Pek, a line-up that is basically the same as the one that posted the second best point differential in the league. Couple this with the continued improvement of Love and rubio, as well as Bud bouncing back to the player that we traded for, and this is a pretty damn good starting line-up.
Then we focus on the bench. We hire a coach who's willing to get a little frisky with the bench units, subbing love out late in the first, letting rubio get some quality minutes to just wheel and deal, see how gorgui and pek do together, making sure to only play barea with love, or have him be off-ball etc etc.
Our basic bench unit becomes barea-shabazz-brewer-gorgui-turiaf. Gorgui continues to emerge as the steal of his draft class and shabazz improves and keeps punishing fools on the block and brewer fulfills his god given role as an energy guy off the bench. This all comes together to give us a not worst in the league bench that is able to hold and possibly extend leads for us.
When it comes down to the 4th quarters we regress to the mean and finally win some close games, helped along by loves improved iso scoring ability and rubio's improved jumpshot and floater.
We start the season off like we did last season but keep it going this time, everything starts to click as we start winning games, twolves are the feel good story on the regular season and enter the playoffs with home-court advantage. We win a playoff series for the first time since KG left and make the WCF after a 7 game thriller against the clippers as love hits the winning three off a behind the back pass from rubio.
If you want to add some more fantastical elements to my dream then Silver decides that he is a straight up G who doesn't play by the rules and unilaterally declares that the timberwolves now play in the eastern conference. A few days after that MJ decides that in order to come out of retirement he will fusion dance with JJ barea thus creating the dreaded and feared "MJ Barea" who consumes Kmart for his three point shooting ability and thus becomes a better version of michael jordan.
**** this rebuilding bull. I want to win. Even for a single season I want to win.

As heretical and stupid as this sounds, I believe that barea can still be useful. He killed it for those mavs teams, and given the right situation, he can kill it again. I believe that adelman game him far too much rope and barea hung himself with it.

Marc Gasol. I don't know how, I don't know when, but that is the one player who would fit perfectly with the core pieces here.
History with Rubio, history with Joerger, and a perfect fit with Love.

Re: Dreamer's Thread
Trade Love for #1 pick and other parts, draft Embiid. His back checks out, he becomes next Hakeem.
By the way, Embiid’s back is fine. I watched him work out last week.
Q: Wait … what? You watched Joel Embiid work out last week?
A: Yes — at a secret location in Santa Monica. He wasn’t playing against anyone, just going through a two-hour workout with Will Perdue. Here’s what I can tell you: He moves around as effortlessly as a 7-foot Serge Ibaka; he’s such an athletic freak that he’s one of those “still going up as he’s finishing the dunk” guys; his freakish wingspan might make Jay Bilas pass out; he has been playing basketball for only four years (which seems impossible); he gave up a world-class volleyball career; he has 3-point range; he can shoot jump-hooks with both hands already; he couldn’t have seemed more coachable/agreeable/likable; he’s a hard worker with a goofy sense of humor; his voice is just a touch Mutombo-y (deep with a heavy African accent); and his friends call him “Jo-Jo.” And again — his back seemed totally fine.

Re: Dreamer's Thread
it's impossible but:
1) hire Joeger
2) We don't trade Love, he resigns
3) We trade Barea-Budinger-Shved for KG
4) We trade Pek for Millsap + #15
5) We sign Rubio for 40 mil/4 yr
6) We select Stauskas, Payton, KJ McDaniels
7) We sign Livingston for MLE
8) We sign De Colo for 2 yr vet min
Dieng/KG/Turiaf
Love/Millsap/Mbah
Brewer/Shabazz/McDaniels
Martin/Stauskas/Shabazz
Rubio/Livingston/De Colo/Payton
We make playoff, go to 2nd round, Love is happy. KG retires after emotional speech and standing ovation. Millsap, Mbah contracts expire, and we don't have bad contracts.

For me
1. Hire Dave Joerger
2. Love to Cavs for #1
3. #1 to 76ers for 3+10
4. Somehow unload Martin
5. Draft 3. Jabari Parker 10. Doug McDermott 13. Gary Harris/Nick Stauskas
Rubio/Barea
Brewer/Harris
Parker/Shabazz
McDermott/?
Pek/Dieng
Not a good team right away but Rubio, Parker, Dieng, Harris, Pek, McDermott, and Shabazz are all good building blocks
