We are clearly tanking and I am more than fine with it. The team itself is still trying and we don't need to risk any further injury with our guys like Rubio and Pek.

Sorry, I'm just not buying the tanking theory.
WINS:
NY 13
Min 14
Phila 15
LAL 17
Orl 21
Sac 22
Det 23
The worst team gets 11 pig pong balls (out of 66). The second worse gets 10, third worse gets 9, and so on. If you're believing that Flip is tanking, then you have to believe that a coach, with a roster full of first and second year NBA kids, is choosing to go after one or two more ping pong balls at the risk of their development. In all likelihood, the Wolves will have a top-4 pick. Is it worth it to mess with a bunch of NBA babes confidence and development for one or two more balls. Lastly, if you finished with the 3rd worst record, you have just a 3.03% less of a chance to get the first pick than the worst team. Again, is 3.03% chance worth tanking?
ODDS:
Worst record: 16.67%
2nd: 15.15%
3rd: 13.64%
4th: 12.12%
5th: 10.61%
6th: 9.09%
7th: 7.58%
8th: 6.06%
9th: 4.55%
10th: 3.03%
11th: 1.52%
So, finishing with the worst record only gives you a 6% better chance of landing the first pick than the team who finishes with the 5th worst record. I would tank IF I had a team full of expiring contracts that I didn't plan on bringing back. But do it with a team full of pups that are still learning their way? Absolutely not.

Those odds are incorrect. That was the old system.
These are the odds for the five worst records:
Odds of getting 1st Pick
1. 25.0%
2. 19.9%
3. 15.6%
4. 10.4%
5. 10.3%
Any Top 2 Pick
1. 46.5%
2. 38.7%
3. 31.3%
4. 21.6%
5. 21.4%
Any Top 3 Pick
1. 64.2%
2. 55.8%
3. 46.9%
4. 33.7%
5. 33.4%

My bad. Thanks for the correction.
So, the NEW question is, are you willing to screw with a young team for a 10% better chance at a pick you don't even know is a better pick (as in, no one knows right now if Okafor, Towns, Russel, Mudiay, etc will be the better pro)? At the end of the day, tanking doesn't mean you'll get a higher pick and a higher pick doesn't mean you'll get a better player. The only for sure outcome in the whole deal is that you're screwing with a young team.

What does screwing with a young team consist of? Right now Flip is giving more minutes to younger, worse players. Some would consider that player development, but the result is a worse record.

We should play the young guys as much as possible... though I'd rather see Zach at SG.

The suggestion that Flip is trying to tank would, IMO, mean he's making moves, on purpose, to lose games.
I wouldn't define developing our returning players as tanking. Again, just my opinion.

Season was unsalvageable after all the injuries, would classify this as an unintentional tank. We will have to see if it turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
