My guess is Brown, because no one is taking Bennett.

Rubio-Jones
Martin-LaVine
Wiggins-Muhammad-Budinger-Hummel
Garnett-Bjelica-Payne-Bennett
Towns-Pekovic-Dieng

That is a really unbalanced roster

That's why Budinger will be gone before Brown.

Rubio/Jones/Brown
Martin/Lavine
Wiggins/Muhammad/Hummel
Garnett/Bjelica/Payne/Bennett
Towns/Dieng/(Pekovic)

Pekovic most likely won't play before the all-star break, if then. KG and Payne can both play some 5. Wiggins can play some 2. Bennett will be shopped, if they can't find a taker, he sits on the bench with Hummel and Brown.

I think Bennett will be gone somehow. We may trade him for a better fitting expiring.

You're probably right but it makes absolutely no sense to trade him right now imo. Having a bunch of Power Forwards is not a bad thing at the moment imo and all of them should be brought to training camp to fight for minutes through pre season. I would love to see Bjelica-KG one night and Payne-Bennett the next through pre season. Make the decisions based on merit, fact and evidence after pre season or first half of the season.

It makes sense because he sucks. He puts up the same production as Payne and Hummel and makes 4x more.

If cap space its not important right now.

Why should we trade the expiring Bennett over the BUST Payne ?

Doesn't make any sense.

When it comes to moving a 6 million dollar contract, I don't think you can wait until training camp. There will be a window between the end of July and August where I think we'll move Bennett.

Assuming we can only keep one, Payne is cheap and we invested a 1st round pick in him.

I personally don't think he's any more movable now than he would be at the end of training camp/at the all star break.

Assuming we can only keep one, let's keep the most talented with the biggest upside. Not the BUST.

Also, if Bennett fails he is an expiring. I don't get it.

Payne only has a job in the NBA because of Flip.

There's not a ton of teams looking to make moves at the end of training camp.

You can't call Payne a bust and not Bennett. And Payne has a job because he was drafted in the first round and that had nothing to do with Flip.

Maybe but he has a chance to show something and improve his value with a strong start to the season. I dunno, maybe I'm irrational but I really still have a ton of belief in Bennett.

Sure, but Bennett is on the market before Payne.
Shows that Flip is trying to justify the 1st round pick for Payne.

At this time we should be looking for the most talented with the biggest upside. We shouln't be looking for fit / $$$.

Bennett best scenario is provaly a very good starter in this league.
Payne best scenario provaly is being in the league in 3 years.

All I can say is that Flip wouldn't have made the trade if he agreed with you, and it doesn't matter what either of us think.

I don't get it lol

Hummel is better than Payne.
I wish that Payne was something amazing.

And I was excited about this trade in the begining because Flip did a great job finding talent (Dieng / Shabazz / Lavine)
But i didn't expect this guy to be so bad. He doesn't do anything good.
Is IQ, LOL.

I don't even going with Bennett vs Payne anymore. If Bennett doesn't count for Flip, at least trade both, Bennett and Payne.

And go with KG / Bjelica / Hummel.

It's not a difficult concept. Payne has played 32 NBA games (that's less than half of one season), he makes under $2 million, and he can play backup 4 or 5. He's a cheap project big. There's nothing more to get.

I thought it was curious to hear Flip call Payne a "two way player" on the NBA Lockdown podcast.
