I think this is a great hire of New York. I thought Rosas was done but time and time again we see you can get second chances, hopefully he keeps his head on straight. very talented dude.

That actually has the potential to be a good landing spot for him, since they don't care about defense.

Jaylen Nowell, from potential extension candidate to fringe camp contract in 12 months.
Bummer for him.

Pretty sure a lot of us thought he would be lucky to be on an NBA team at the beginning of this off-season.

Hey ya!

I’m really curious if Jimmy’s rage about not acquiring Dame will fuel him (he is great at rage-fuel), or whether he’ll eventually blame Riley and the Heat organization for not doing what it took to get it done, and force his way off another team?

Depends. If he wants a lot of money he's gonna stay in Miami. He'll be 35 almost 36 at the end of his current contract and no one in their right mind will offer him a large contract of 4 years. I don't even think there's a contender out there that could offer him a max of a 3 year extension or would want to. He doesn't have quite the leverage he used to.

I think he knows there's also very few organizations that can "handle" his personality, especially with how much load management and rest till the playoffs he does.

Nowell is not making an NBA roster to start the season.
Was just waived by SAC.

Can he lower his ego enough to take a two-way?

Is any team even offering one up for Nowell? I wouldn't be surprised if he has no two-way offers. He could probably play in the G League but does he really want to. I think there is a better chance of him playing on an overseas team.

I would take Nowell on a two-way/minimum; I think even with his flaws he has more value than some of our camp guys.

I would say no to Nowell. I have zero interest in him, even on a two-way.

Not saying you're wrong, but tell me why. He didn't shoot well last year, admittedly, but do we think we're going to get more out of our other end-of-bench guys than we might under Nowell? He has shown the ability to have some big scoring nights.

We are building the team on defense

Yes, we have a deep team and Nowell would be out of the rotation and the young guys we got have more upside. Every single one of them. I would prefer even a couple of the guys we cut before I'd want Nowell such as Vit Krejci and Tyrese Martin. He just got cut by Sacramento, which he obviously thought was the best opportunity for him. He might be out of the NBA for good now and he probably should grab an overseas gig asap.

I think he was doing that by signing a camp deal with SAC I would assume.
