If Naz makes his next two free throws, he will be back up to 50/40/90.

Incidentally, Towns has slipped a little. He needs to make his next 3P, and hit his next 5 free throws to get there.

Last night, Naz Reid moved ahead of Zach LaVine for 10th in 3-pointers made in Timberwolves history, now at 301. He needs three more to move into a tie for 9th with Ricky Rubio.

Something tells me he is gonna end up higher than 9th on that list :)

He'll almost surely pass Wally Szczerbiak (8th - 343) by the end of the season

Wally got to the NBA a decade too soon.

In his 3rd season with us he played 38 minutes per game and attempted only 2.3 threes. And he shot 46% on them!

He averaged 2.2 for his career, with a career high of 3.5.

1. Karl-Anthony Towns 921
2. Anthony Edwards 692
3. Andrew Wiggins 520
4. D'Angelo Russell 482
5. Anthony Peeler 465
6. Kevin Love 440
7. Malik Beasley 417
8. Wally Szczerbiak 343
9. Naz Reid 305
10. Ricky Rubio 304

Beasley is in two seasons. You can see how the game is changing.

Who would Szczerbiak’s closest modern day comparison be? Huerter? Kyle Korver?

I think peak Wally was a little more scorer and a little less spot up shooter than some of these comparisons.

Khris Middleton would be a decent comp

So long, Ricky.

Up next, Wally.

Middleton's ball handling/assisting skills dwarves Wally's. Wally was a better shooter.

I think that Naz is not a defensive force yet, but he has improved a lot in this area. He was unplayable in his first two seasons, now he moves feet better, has better positioning in defense. However, he needs to improve his discipline and awareness in defense AND defensive rebounding (mainly boxing out). Remove those frustration fouls, add couple of boxouts and he is plus player in defense.

I agree that Naz can be our special weapon against small ball. Last season he showed it against GSW. Although this year I think MIN lack of depth at wings was exposed by OKC.

I looked up Naz Reid’s pre-draft projections, and was so amused, I had to share them!

Reid's Scouting Profile (h/t B/R's Jonathan Wasserman)

Offensive Strengths
Unique size and skill level. Can create his own shot from different spots, can make threes.

Offensive Weaknesses
Lacks explosion around the basket. Poor feel/awareness, takes bad shots.

Defensive Outlook
Low motor, low-IQ defender. Poor defense will be biggest reason he can't play big minutes.
