Re: Jordan McLaughlin - JMAC
Lost in all the talk about contract situations, I believe McLaughlin would be extension eligible in September.

I’d feel bad about it, but I’d offer him an extension with minimal money, but the first two years mostly guaranteed. I don’t think he’s in a position to say no - maybe he’d appreciate a little security while he rehabs, and MIN carries the risk.
His teammates definitely do well when he’s on the floor and Finch likes him. Maybe he can play backup PG for us going forward, but we could pay him right now like a third stringer.

I love JMac, but these injuries make him 3rd stringer...

Here is my optimistic plot twist: JMac returns, then Moore (or Nowell) starts hitting open 3s and finish this season strongly

It's not a stretch, especially pertaining to Nowell. Good point guards matter.

Re: Jordan McLaughlin - JMAC
I know this is a hot take, but I'm honestly not as worried about the PG position next year even if we don't deal with Russell, and that's because of McLaughlin. I know he's probably not a starter, but he absolutely needs to be in the equation.

Jordan is the perfect backup. He's signed thru 23-24 for around 2.3 mil. So we don't have to worry about contracts this summer. He's not going anywhere.

McLaughlin looked healthy in last game. Also it is interesting but he and Conley play in the very similar way: high effort, mistake free, unselfish basketball.

At that price, keeping him is the right move. Every team can use a cheap and system PG like that (if they don’t have one).
"a poor addition to the board"

Re: Jordan McLaughlin - JMAC
An interesting nugget: After the trade deadline, McLaughlin made at least one 3-pointer in 15 of his 22 games played (38.1% in that span). Prior to the trade deadline, he shot just 22.2% on 3-pointers and recorded a made 3FG in just 5 of 21 games played.

Re: Jordan McLaughlin - JMAC
My goal for Jmac for next season is to set the league record for DNP-CD's.
That will mean our backcourt stayed very healthy all year.

Or he will play career high minutes in fourth quarter because of multiple blowout games when our first 10 guys get job done in first three quarters.
