Another fun fact that I am 99% sure about. The Wolves have not lost 3 in a row since March of 2023 (or earlier.) That is not something many Wolves teams can say ;)

But he isn’t an all star or a top 25 player ;). The NBA needs better metrics than PPG to evaluate honors and awards.

What I have heard, is for years, Rudy has been at the top of the list of “What GM’s Value” and low on the list of “What Fans Value.”

Everyone thought the price we paid for Gobert was high, but people in the industry were far less likely to think it was a massive overpay, like reporters and fans said. They know how Rudy can drive winning, even without PPG.

EDIT: Last year on the Trade Board, Gobert was getting votes for a Top 25 Best Contract, and a Top 10 Worst Contract. I get that a big salary makes him a big bet, but his talent is a big thing as well. Still, it always struck me funny a group of people could think he was both. We could see the same thing with Towns this year, if his playoff performance doesn’t push opinion one way or the other.

When we win our next game in the series, we will reach a point the Timberwolves have only reached 4 times before, winning multiple playoff games in the same season.

2022: 2 wins
2004: 10 wins
2003: 2 wins
1998: 2 wins

I would try and outbid you and go for 17, but that math would be a little suspicious ;)

“This on-court success has transformed the business. Public data tells us Minnesota’s local market viewership is up 115% from last year. And privately, a source told me the Timberwolves recently cracked $50 million in annual ticket revenue for the first time ever, and the team has gone from producing just six figures of gross revenue per home game a few years ago to over $2 million in revenue for select home games this year. 3 hours ago – via Huddle Up”

Bold move trying to skirt the ban on ownership talk, but on a micro level, this fact might actually be allowable....

All I wanted was to show how the fans are supporting the team. I left out anything to do with ownership.

Keep in mind teams are 416-33 when leading 2-0 in a series.

This data does include shorter series than 7 games though.

McDaniels made 10 of 17 shots, including two 3s, and only turned the ball over once. The 23-year-old became the third-youngest player in Wolves history to score at least 25 points in the playoffs, joining Edwards and Stephon Marbury.
