Found it!! It was an April, 2023 post. It was the Athletics year end anonymous player poll. Reflects nothing current, obviously. Old, dead, news

Gonna mock my brother for this one. Good find and thank you :)

You are welcome. Gotta give those siblings a hard time!! :D :D

He is wrong. OKC is 10-4 against the division. We need to sweep Portland, and Utah and then go 1-2 against Denver, and then it still isn’t a given.

OKC 10-4 with remaining games: at POR, vs. UTA
MIN 7-2 with remaining games: at POR, vs. POR, at UTA, at UTA, vs. DEN, at DEN, at DEN

So if OKC goes 2-0, we would need to go 5-2 or better to tie or pass them. But if we tie, then it goes to conference record where we have a healthy lead on the Thunder (26-8 vs. 22-13).

Very true. We also have more home games remaining, and an easier schedule. Also worth noting that going 5-2 means we are 31-10 in conference at that point. We have exactly 30 games against the East so we have 52 against the West. We would have 11 games left and absolute worst case (OKC never loses again to the west, which we both know is crazy unlikely,) 8-3 in those remaining games. More realistic is probably 5-6 gets it done or maybe even 4-7. The key is we need to sweep Utah and that is easier said than done. Especially when one of the games is a front end R/H B2B with Denver on the back end, and is the 6th game of a 6 game road trip and the second game of 3 games in 4 nights. The 16th, 18th and 19th of March are gonna get very interesting.

Wolves heading to the ASB on a 4 game winning streak. They are 23 games above .500. They are first in the west with 1.5 game margin above number 2 OKC. Oh, and Karl hasn’t played a fourth quarter in 4 games :).

Quoting Michael Grady “This will be the 15th team the Wolves held under 100 points and under 40% shooting.” In a separate statement Grady added “The Timberwolves are the first team this year to reach 20 road wins. Done for the second time in franchise history.”

I was surprised by this, and the most road wins by any other team is 17. Part of this is that the Wolves have already played 31 road games, while many other top teams have bolstered their record with home games - most have only played 25-26.

The rest of the Wolves schedule helps this advantage. After the All Star break, we play seven consecutive games at home, then six straight on the road, and finish with home-heavy match ups to close the season.

We have 7 back to backs in the next month in half. For context we only have 27 left. That means more than a quarter of them are on the front end of a back to back, and more than a quarter are on the back end.

Wolves have 4 pairs of back to back games within 2 weeks after all star break starting with MIL/BKN on 2/23 and end with @IND/@CLE on 3/7-3/8. That's got to be the first since it was the Minneapolis Lakers.

Probably. We have a very weird schedule this year. We had a ton of rest advantages, but now we pay it back, with interest!

We are 4-2 on the second game of back-to-backs this year.

“The Wolves have allowed 2.1 fewer points per 100 possessions than any other team. That would be the fourth biggest differential between the top-ranked and second-ranked defense in the 28 seasons for which we have play-by-play data.
They have the best record (23-11) in games played between the 18 teams that are currently over .500 and the best record (11-7) in games played between the top eight teams in the West.
They’ve been the league’s most improved rebounding team, grabbing 51.6% of available rebounds (sixth), up from 48.5% (27th) last season. The larger improvement has been on the defensive glass.
The Wolves have the league’s most home-heavy remaining schedule, with 17 of their 27 games at the Target Center. They begin their post-break schedule with their longest homestand of the season (seven games over 11 days), though it includes three rest-disadvantage games, the first coming Saturday against Brooklyn.”

Locked on Wolves uses cleaning the glass to break stuff down. Cleaning the glass is a pay wall restricted website that does statistical analysis. It is favored by Dane Moore and other NBA podcasts/podcasters. The reason it is favored is it eliminates garbage time in all its numbers.

Fun facts.

1. Cleaning the glass has us 15th in offensive rating, so no longer bottom half.

2. The last 3 NBA champions were all 20th or lower in turnover rate. GSW was actually more turnover prone in 2022 than we are now, and they still won it all.

If anyone has a cleaning the glass membership, they could probably see a more complete picture of how we stack up.

Just look at Defensive rating, Rudy number 1, KAT number 3 ( big achievement), ANT number 8, Mike 16... really impressive how our team is good in defense..

Jaden would probably be higher, but guarding the elite players in the league takes a toll.

Yes absolutly. He is elite defense too. But i'm still upset the stupid mistake he make sometimes so i did not look at his stat this time :)
