I want to preface this by saying despite Mike having his worst game in a Wolves uniform against OKC, I still think he is the MVW (Most Valuable Wolf,) so far this season. That being said, tonight’s game showed something troubling. If Karl or Rudy had been unplayable tonight Finch could have had Naz close for either of them. If Jaden was unplayable NAW could close for him. Ant is generally awful end of game and Finch will never replace him. But when it comes to Mike, not having a legit PG2 behind him limits Finch’s options. Tonight we got a preview of what the Wolves look like in a playoff caliber game without Mike Conley, and I gotta tell you it is not championship quality. If we don’t get a legit backup for Mike, this could be our playoff future.

Can only agree. Unless Finch explain to Ant that he cannot carry the ball too much at clutch time, we have only one option Mike. And he is old and can be injured. More than adding scoring, we really need a good back up PG. Or work hard second part of the season to make JML improved. Tonigh he was quite okay but all his points came with Mike assists ...

It’s not just that Mike is old and can be hurt, he is also human and susceptible to bad games. Mike is playing out of his mind and arguably in some ways the best ball of his career. How much do you really want to take that for granted? 82 games plus 4 series is a very long time. Mike will have bad nights and shooting slumps, and get sick or sore and still play. In all these cases, not having a backup is a killer. Jordan played great tonight, but Finch doesn’t trust him in crunch time, or in games against teams like LAC. If you don’t have a trusted backup PG that means point Ant, and I am starting to dread point Ant almost as much as point Wiggins.

I agree with you. Mike is not a 100% guarantee player specially if we let him play 75 games at 30 min. Mike look a bit tired last 4 or 5 games, have slow start. Looking at his shoot make me thinking he may be also not a 100% ( elbow). I follow Mike since he got trade and know him by heart. Hope he take opportunity to get some rest and work during the ASG and come back strong .

It's mildly concerning that Finch has admitted at multiple times he needs to do a better job of getting the ball out of Ant and Towns' hands late in games.

They said he had an illness. I think it is non covid as they would have said he had Covid.

Sound not serious then. Hopefully he will be back soon. Against a bad team like WAS it's not a big deal. Tomorrow will be more tough.

There was a question about an injury or at least something sore I think plus the illness, but I also think we'll see him rest more often than not on one end of a back-to-back going forward.

Tonight is one of the first night where i see Mike unhappy with ANT. He speak to him a lot in second quarter and then speak again ( with not a happy face, the same face when a dad speak when his kids make something wrong) during the last TO in the fourth. I think if we don't show we can be a contender this year, i will not be surprised if he try to tgo to Phily or Denver for example. He will be a great upgrade on KCP and will have a real chance to win.
Just my 2 cents.

I have heard bits of sound bites but nothing from start to finish. Can someone please tell me what’s up with Mike?

OMG I love this news!!!
"...I want to compliment him, we all expected that he would take up the game, we have prepared the plan race on him, we have doubled. And, as usual, he did what he wanted..."

One of the greatest trades in Wolves history. Changed the entire trajectory of the team.

That is 2 mil more per year than I expected. I think we are for sure tax paying and very close to 2nd apron. If Taylor is still running the team, I would bet Towns or JMcD be traded for picks this summer. On the other hand, we could have the main 8 back next year. So, I am not sure this is good news or bad news. Maybe it's just news.

Great news! Glad Mike is willing to take a deal like this after making a lot more than this in the past.
