This isn't really a mental health issue. It is a "I was a basketball professional at 14 and no longer care for the sport" issue.
Happens often with child prodigies.

I thought I heard Michael Grady say that Mike was third on the list. I know he’s played every game since coming to Minnesota (56 straight). That might be his final number, because if you recall, we traded for him on the same day we played Utah, so he couldn’t play for either team until he completed a physical. If that game doesn’t count, he had played ten straight games for Utah before the trade, and 24 of the previous 25. If he plays tomorrow, I would consider that playing in 81 of 82 games, a full season missing only one game, and that makes me more comfortable about his future.
Conley himself has said that he’s unlikely to get hurt because he doesn’t take much contact any more. He doesn’t bang with bigs for rebounds, and he shoots a pull up rather than drive all the way to the hoop. He says his only contact at all these days is fighting through screens. Well, unless Chris Paul intentionally tries to roll into his legs again.

That's sort of what I was getting at. I think it's important when talking about Mental Health to focus on the cause of the mental health.

Word of advice from someone that's dealt with these issues my entire life; don't speculate about the cause of another's mental health. It's never productive for them nor is it a good look for you, regardless of your intentions.
This goes double for someone you've never met and whose circumstances you don't know. Although honestly, don't do it for someone you do know either.
