I'm still very in on him! Perfect fit for how we want to play!

I just don't know what to make of his defence.

There's moments where he moves his feet and flips his hips well enough that I think he could survive in the NBA. Then there's other times where he just...doesn't. So that will be interesting to watch no matter what team he gets put on.

Offensively he could slide into that Gobert role easily. He's a great screener and has a soft touch around the rim, so even if he never gets a post touch in the NBA (which he probably won't) he should still be effective on that end.

Are there any other players who might fit that profile?

I assume by your Edey comment that you're referring to guys that might be available around where we're picking, which would rule out someone like Clingan and probably Missi (who's the closest stylistic fit).

Aside from them Ke'lel Ware has a similar body type but different game at this point, being more offensively gifted. He's got motor questions too so not sure how keen we are to touch guys like that after the Wiggins experience, although all 3 of Ant, Jaden and Naz had similar red flags coming out so maybe there's something in this organisation now that can develop that in guys.

Ariel Hukporti fits the style as well and should be available later on in the draft. He's been effective in Australia the last few years and has that same simple stylistic game of finishing around the rim and stopping other people from finishing around the rim.

One of my personal go-to draft sites at the Ringer recently updated their big board and mock draft.

Too small unfortunately.

He's the same height as McLaughlin but has a 2 inch shorter wingspan.

Damn. This draft looks really mediocre. Not much for top end talent, or much for interesting guys late.

So many people wanted us to get rid of J Mc and Slo Mo. I'm so glad Connelly didn't listen.

Not sure what Anderson has to do with what I said. Not really sure what keeping JMac has to do with what I said earlier either.

Did you quote us by accident?

nbadraftroom.com has Jaylon Tyson to MIN with 27th pick. Tyson reminds me Jaime Jaquez Jr

I also like AJ Johnson as development prospect

Nope. The talk about McLaughlin here just reminded me how many people wanted to get rid of McLaughlin and also Anderson. I didn't say you wanted to get rid of either.

I am all for BPA, but gotta start thinking about getting the heir apparents to Mike and Rudy.
Devin Carter and Adem Bona? Or Ulrich Comche and KJ simpson or Hunter Sallis?

Out of the guys who have a chance at being available at #27, I'd look at Carlton Carrington and DaRon Holmes as really interesting possibilities. Carrington is a young low floor/high ceiling type of player that could develop into a great fit next to Ant. Holmes is the opposite in that he's a high floor big that seems like he has a real chance to be a role player that contributes on both ends.

At #37 I'd target Hunter Sallis. He looks like he could be a combo guard that has the length, defense, and shooting to fit really well.

I don't think there is an heir to Rudy. He's one of a kind.

I tend to agree, but I understand the notion.

Personally, I wonder if we lean even more into the stretch/coordinated big thing we have started with Towns, Reid, Miller after Gobert is done here.

I believe a Rudy/KAT type combination is better than a KAT/Naz combination.
