I had such high hopes for Shake. He was so good on Philly.

Bogdanovic is the best fit and naturally the hardest to acquire.

The question is, “will TC overvalue our roster and opt for a lessor player with a lessor fit/impact?”

The Timberwolves‘ front office has been scouring the trade market in the hopes of addressing a couple areas of concern on the bench and better positioning the team for a deep postseason run, writes Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic. According to Krawczynski, Minnesota would like to bolster its second unit by adding another ball-handler and/or a scorer or shooter.

Krawczynski confirms a number of previously reported point guard targets for the Wolves, including Tyus Jones and Monte Morris, while also naming Dennis Schröder and Kyle Lowry as a couple more players of interest. Lowry would have to be a buyout target, since Minnesota isn’t in position to match his $29.7MM salary on the trade market.

If the Wolves focus on a scorer rather than a point guard, Alec Burks and Bones Hyland are among the players who could be fits, Krawczynski writes.

Krawczynski doesn’t expect Minnesota to move Kyle Anderson, referring to him as a key part of the team’s defense and an important voice in the locker room. That’s notable, since hanging onto Anderson and their other five highest-paid players (Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, and Naz Reid) would leave the Wolves with no trade chips earning more than $5MM, limiting their ability to salary-match for players earning much beyond the mid-level.

Expecting not much, probably just going to be a trade for Monte Morris if I had to guess. I really want to dump Anderson, as good as he was for us last year he's been the opposite this season. Horrible offense, really bad decision making, and he seems like one thats always talking to refs as well(his technical foul tonight). Idk if it's the eye injury, playing more 3 than 4, or what but he's been horrible.

TBJ and Shake for Morris
Slomo for Royce O'neal

Massively upgrade the shooting and playmaking and still keep the perimeter defense Anderson provides.

If they keep Anderson they need to make changes when he's on the court. Involve him in literally every action they run at minimum, because he's a liability when he's off ball.

He should be setting screens on every possession when he does not have ball. BUT, in this case we need a movement shooter, who can take advantage of such screens. I remember how GSW put Green/Looney in the corner, opponent who guarded Green started to help off Green and roaming in the paint. But GSW adjusted offense and shooters started to use Green screens on weakside to get open threes point looks. Curry/Thompson/Poole + Green > one perimeter defender. 2 vs 1 because Green's defender was too far, in the paint

The problem is that he’s been a liability on-ball as well, this season.

Last season he was one of NBA leaders in taking and making those long floaters/push shots in in the paint, I dont know his numbers from this season, but I have not seen much from him in this area.

This roster with its flaws and impending financial doom seemed a lot more palatable when we were leading the West. Now that we’re tied for 3rd/4th (likely 4th after going to Milwaukee) with a possible first round series with a surging Suns team, it doesn’t look as great. Still long way to go this season and those teams at the top are bunched, but I think we do need to make a move and go for it now. If we do finish 4th and lose to the Suns in round 1, this team will be completely torn down before next season.

We need someone that can create their own shot. After Ant we really have no one. Relying on Gobert screens to get Kat or Conley a 3. I think that could be a cause for a lot of 4th quarter troubles as well.

SI or some publication thinks the teams interested in Tyus Jones are: ORL, Min, LAL, SAS, BKN. I just don't see ORL, SAS and BKN are in the mix. Especially since BKN already have Ben Simmons :D

I don't see LAL offer a 1st round pick either. So, if reports are somewhat real, likely landing place is MIN. However, can Jones really play in Finch's undisciplined control chaos system?

Jones would be fine in any system. He's a smart player and makes the right play. Any deal for him has to include Slomo with Shake though for us to be comfortable under the tax. That pretty much means we won't be able to deal for anyone else.

How far off is the value of Slomo + Shake + Tbj for Tyus and Kispert? Or is Kispert even better than Tbj, or better enough for him to get minutes in our rotation?

I'm a big fan of Jaden...I think he still has a lot of maturing and learning at 22. In the next 3-4 years, he could be really special. That being said, I understand some people's frustration on this board with him. His poison pill makes things difficult to trade him, but I'm wondering if Detroit would be willing to part ways with Cade. Cunningham finished #1 based on the moss ratings (LOL).

Would you all go for either of these trades?

1)Jaden and SloMo for Cade
2) Jaden, SloMo, WMJ, and Shake (20.6) for Cade and Burks (21.5)

I'd be happy/thrilled with either of those. Nothing wrong with Cade that playing for a good team wouldn't fix.

I would not have been disappointed if we had traded for this guy.

Fontecchio was traded from the Jazz to the Pistons on Wednesday in exchange for Kevin Knox and a 2024 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

What a goofy world we live in. I guess that's how we find out about players being traded. Following and unfollowing on social media.

I can't see us beating their offer. They gave up the better of the MEM/WIZ pick (we have the worse) and the draft rights to Gabriele Procida (36th pick in the 2022 draft).

That's interesting. There aren't very many rumored trade targets where moving Anderson makes sense.
