E, Jaden McDaniels. All of the above is true, but Jaden has a narrative floating around that he is overpaid and too inconsistent. That narrative could undermine his confidence and take him down a bad road. A solid series will help him build his confidence. A solid multiple series defending the best players will remind everyone his true potential (for **** sake he is only 23.) Basketball is a confidence game, and Jaden spends too much time in his head, (he almost never smiles.) Jaden might need this more than anyone.

I choose Mike but could have been Rudy or KAT. They both have a 1+2 years windows right now. Mike because winning a title could make him a HOF candidate considering that he will ended his career in the top 15-20 history for assists and 3 point made.

It's defenitely Kat. He needs to show out consistently throughout the playoffs. Defensively and offensively. Because he legit has exaggerated negative rep by casual neutrals. I mean he was playing really well first half of first game, and general board match thread had handful posters just dogging him like he was the worst one on the court (not a peep about Ant who was no show in beginning).

So essentially he has an automatic rep where people just hate on him without even acknowledging when he is good even. So he has bit of toxic media driven narrative he needs to turn around.

That's true for narrative among wolves fans. Average nba fan don't know him well enough yet to build a narrative around him, let alone a negative one. Yeah some may say something about his contract. But mainly he is mainly known as a low-key high level wing defender who fouls too much at times. Seen as one of several in group of defensive specialists. But no real national attention yet.

So the narrative he needs to turn around for is mostly in Wolves fans eyes. His defensive style only weakness is truly fouling too much, tho it's mainly regular season thing and he cut down it fairly significantly this season. Plus physical play is allowed alot in playoffs so won't be an issue for him (just see the difference in whistles against him last Sunday and this Sunday vs same opponents).

The talk about questionning him and his contract is mainly imo if he can take the next step offensively and impose himself in games, while still defending at elite level. Nothing too crazy, more like OG Anouby type of solid efficient offensive game.

We will ride or die on ants back not only this year, but long term. The supporting cast just needs to know their role and play in line. No egos. No reason to prove anything. Rely on fundamentals, and allow ant to be the limiting factor.

I voted edwards, but kat is a very close second.

Good point on Jaden. I considered Finch too.

Edit: Winforlose and Note convinced me to add both names to the poll.

Yeah KAT got my vote - More to do with the standard NBA fans opinion of him then anything from my view, but it will help him most of all.

Jaden McDaniels. He's had the worst year and needs to justify his new contract the most.

KAT in second place to avoid being traded.

I think perhaps Kyle because I dont see how they can bring him back unless he can show out more than he has this year which is highly unlikely from both a money and talent point of view.

Mike Conley has the shortest amount of time, but looking at legacy, the answer has to be Karl-Anthony Towns.

They weren't bringing him back anyways. He is going to be too expensive to retain given the Timberwolves cap situation.

For the thread, definitely Towns. He has been a playoff underperformer.

I'm going to go a little off the beaten path to say Nickeil Alexander-Walker. I don't think he needs it mentally, but I think another series of strong production is going to vault him up considerably in the eyes of the rest of the league, a year out from free agency. We thought he might get MLE money or more last year after his playoff run, but no one seemed to notice around the league so he signed back here for half of that. This year, he's upped his volume and accuracy from 3-point range in the regular season to go along with his tenacious defense. Another strong playoff performance plus a solid showing next year, and he'll enter unrestricted free agency potentially in line for a contract like Bruce Brown, Dillon Brooks, Jaden McDaniels.

KAT - I'm am so tired of hearing that he does nothing to help win, he hasn't won big, blah, blah, blah. I also know that when the Timberwolves win the 'chip this season, it will be because Ant is MJ and nothing about KAT. As long as KAT has a good playoff season, maybe the BS talk about him will quiet down.

KAT.

He’s averaged 18 and 11 on 45% shooting with very little defense in the playoffs prior to yesterday.

~55 million next year.

I couldn't vote in your poll. There should be another category of every player and coach in the organization. We win or lose as a team.
