Poll: Foye's backup?

I'd go the free agent route personally, Chris Duhon or Anthony Johnson so long as the price wasn't out of line.

Telfair would be my preference as long as the price is right.

I'd just stick with Telfair.

As much as I liked Telfair's progress and would have no problem with him returning for the right price; my first choice would be an even stronger defender at point, such as a Duhon.

1a Telfair
1b Duhon

As long as we arent overpaying. I dont want to go into next year with JL3/Nietzel as our backup point

And an Anthony Carter-type as a vet mentor role.

Telfair would be nice to bring back.

Telfair cause he knows the system as well. Duhon would be nice though, like his defense.

I'd take Telfair if we don't overpay him.

I assume Telfair will move on, and believe Duhon is the best option to replace him. Earl Watson would be my next choice due his defensive skills.

The Wolves will likely sign the kid from Michigan State if he plays well in summer league. They seem to like the idea of grooming a backup PG.

I like Dooling. He's in the same mold as Duhon and Watson, but comes much cheaper.

Dooling has a few too many ball-handling problems for me, at least from what i have seen.

Looks like the Knicks are gonna swoop Duhon off the market.

Earl Watson would be my first choice. Tough defender, decent distributor, made himself into an acceptable shooter, and his contract fits the 2010 capspace plan.

there's a ton of options; I guess if I had my druthers I'd go w/ Neitzel as the #3 PG as he fits the m.o. (good shooting, smart floor general) and then hopefully swing a trade for a backup PG and kill two birds w/ one stone by getting rid of some of the front court clutter

I believe Livingston is ready to go, but apparently LAC didn't feel his game was worth waiting for. Seems like he's been a Telfair-like phenom that has yet to pan out. Therefore, might as well resign Telfair. Maybe try Livingston if he goes elsewhere and let him compete for a job and prove he's healthy.

MN has a nice role available for a backup PG due the fact they traded Jaric and did not tender Telfair. We should be able to almost guarentee good minutes by sliding Foye to SG now and then. With that, we need a veteran who is capable of starting and playing heavy minutes if Foye is injured - I believe our 3rd PG will be a rookie to the NBA.

Livingston isn't 100% recovered yet. he's resumed "basketball activities" but trust me, he's not 100%

Based on the injury and how he produced when he was healthy, I could see Livingston being a 3 not a 1 when he gets healthy.

AC isn't looking too likely:

"I'm trying to get a three- or four-year deal," said Carter, saying he wants a raise from last season's minimum contract of $1.1 million.

Carter named Cleveland, New York, Golden State, Dallas and Charlotte as teams he has heard have interest in him. Orlando also is a possibility.
