McHale is kinda slutty when you think about it.

First off, the picture has been, is, and forever will be so wrong.

Second, with the rumors (now granted just rumors) of Kahn's "potential" dealings, makes me really start to miss McHale.

LOL, no it doesn't, it was a draft day deal. He drafted Ray for another team. He drafted Mebury who is not a hall of famer by any stretch. (Damn, he drafted Ray, Roy and Mayo for other teams, he lost every one of those, he would have been a much better GM if he'd just kept the players the other teams wanted. Oh well) I don't think Ray is either, honestly, and it's way too soon to say that any other player who has ever been a TWolf will be a hall of famer, Al Jeff is just way too young to say that. So he drafted one hall famer, and traded for 0, in what, 16 years? That's not great. What about All Stars he brought in? Who made the All star team as a TWolf that Kevin brought in? KG, Googs, Cassell, Wally.... is that it? 4? in 16 years?

And of course he did leave you one last parting gift, the draft pick he traded away to the Clippers as part of the privilage of trading Cassel for Jaric. So you'll have that to deal with in the future.

Too hard dealing with the pain of knowing that McHale's moved on with you?

You completely missed the point of my post.

It doesn't matter if TOR and Isiah Thomas wanted Garnett. We're Minnesota, and for Minnesota, with Isaiah Rider and a history of true failure, it was a brave .. and correct .. pick.

I'm not debating that it was a brave or correct pick, obviously both are true. Simply pointing out that it wasn't like Kevin Garnett was considered to be a huge bust potential guy. You can watch videos of him on draft night and they go on and on about how special this kid is, and how they have never seen another player like him. He had his risks to be sure, but his upside was huge.

I believe this is the "official thanks mchale we luv u" thread, not the debate McHale's resume thread.

I hope you guys don't ever give a speech at someone's funeral

"I said I think you're making a mistake, but that's up to you guys," McHale said Wednesday.

After 16 years in the Wolves' organization, McHale was informed by Kahn on Tuesday night during a meeting at Kahn's hotel that he wouldn't be back.

"I was willing to come back, but they never offered me a contract," McHale said. "They told me last night they were going in a different direction. I told them I know it's been a tough couple of years but that the team is starting to build and that they had some good progress last year when Al (Jefferson) was healthy."

It seems like McHale is more upset that the team will be dismantled than with him not returning as coach. Or am I misreading this?

My honest opinion:

The Timberwolves will no longer be an easy mark in this league. With McHale, they were.

Don't you worry about McHale, either. He'll have a job with the Celtics inside of 6 months.
