Wolves waive Tucker

Alando Tucker has been spared the final three weeks of a lost season.

The Timberwolves waived the third-year forward on Monday, essentially excusing him from the final dozen games after three months on Minnesota's bench. Tucker, Wisconsin's all-time leading scorer, appeared in only four games after being acquired in a salary-cap-maneuver trade with Phoenix on Dec. 29. The Wolves also received a second-round pick in the swap for Jason Hart, a trade intended only to reduce the Suns' luxury-tax bill.

Tucker scored four baskets in 25 total minutes during his three months with the Wolves, spending most games on the inactive list. His lone Target Center appearance amounted to a scoreless three-minute, 22-second stint on March 6.

Releasing Tucker leaves the Wolves with 13 players, the NBA minimum, on their roster. Minnesota faces Toronto tonight in Target Center.

Best for him to get an opportunity somewhere else.

I still would be curious to learn someday why during a developmental season, why Tucker couldnt get any extended playing time?

He must have looked horrible in practice. He must have looked so bad that they didnt care about how bad Sasha looks in games.

If you can't outplay Sasha in practice, you must be real bad. I wonder if Coby Karl could outplay him?

He probably kicked Sashas butt in practice and Rambis punished him by sitting him. Seriously, there is no excuse why that kid couldn't get any PT on this team. Shasha's minutes should have been cut the minute Tucker stepped in the door.

Honestly, I'd rather have given the minutes to Rashard McCants

That's two strikes. Careful, third strike law requires mandatory sentencing.

It's late in Germany, sorry :D

Rashad or Rashard doesn't matter as long as he isn't on our team anymore.

I was going to make an argument about how Tucker was younger then Pavlovic and with the Wolves being so bad, why not just play the young guy but...
Tucker-Feb 1984
Pavlovic-Nov 1983

Tucker should be begging a D-League team to bring him on.

If Tucker can't get minutes on this team, He can't get minutes on any NBA team. Time to fall back on that degree, Alando.
