Rangers Trade for Rick Nash
Where my hockey fans at?
Seems as it's: Erixon, Dubi, Anisimov, 1st for Nash
Good deal, overrated player with high cap hit, but it's a deal I can live with.

COMPARED TO WHAT COLUMBUS WANTED IN THE SPRING THAT IS A HUGE BARGAIN. SLATS REFUSES TO BE PUSHED AROUND. HE SAID HE WOULD NOT GIVE UP MmCd OR KREIDER AND HE HELD HIS GROUND.
EDIT: Sorry caps locked.

Does this signing put the Rangers in the luxary tax (if there is a luxary tax in hockey) because that may explain why Dolan didn't resign Lin

I think it's a steal...I'll miss Dubi and Anisimov but Dubi was not very good this season. Nash added to the power play could have a real impact hopefully.

No, the NHL has a hard cap.

As a Rangers hater goddamn I'm jealous. You guys robbed Columbus blind.
Hate to say it, but this makes the Rangers the best team in the NHL. I wish Dolan could ignore the Knicks like he does with the Rags.

Wow Rangers got Nash without giving up Kreider, MDZ or Stepan.
You guys know of a good Rangers message board? The hockey board here is like a ghost town.

Re: OT: Rangers trade for Rick Nash
Nash is kind of the Melo of the NHL i'd say.
Has all the offensive talent in the world, but he's often not motivated and many say he just needs to be surrounded by good players.

Anyone who has anything negative to say about Sather can leave now... this guy just orchestrated the trade of a lifetime. Our top 6 is so insanely good, it should be a crime.

Re: OT: Rangers trade for Rick Nash
Hated to see Dubinsky go because he was a hard nosed kid who gave it his all...remember him hobbling on the ice in the second round.
Look...this was inevitable. The expectations have never been higher for the Rangers in well over a decade.
Rangers cannot continue to take for granted and live off Lundqvst to stave off elimination. Rangers went to 7 games twice in the playoffs last season and that's NOT the way to live in second season.
What Nash brings cannot be measured in the regular season but rather in the playoffs when trapping becomes the norm. You saw at inopportune times, Gaborik was smothered or out muscled and just flat out useless during Forechecking. He's a small speedy guy. You NEED that big winger who can power to the next like when the Rangers had Jagr. Nash will bring that and take the pressure off Richards.
Speaking Richards...man, that line with Nash is Big, fast, and lethal.
Sad to see the kids go but "Tortellini" needed that guy for his system. Now we need coach to tell Dolan to shut the hell up.

What's our salary space look like can we still get Doan? Or does this mean that's a no-go...I'd hate to see him on the Fliers.

"GM for Life" Sather pulled off another deal for a star player
i think this is pretty much the Rangers strategy the past 20 years but atleast this time it will definitely work
