OT:New York Rangers Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Post#1 » by BKAY » Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:33 pm

I know I can't be the only one around here who has turned to the NHL playoffs. Rangers are posturing up to make a deep run and have all the pieces necessary to compete for the Stanley Cup.

The St.Louis trade is looking better and better every game.

Next game is Friday in Philly @ 7:00 ET (tune in to MSG)
Rangers currently lead the series 2-1.

If you aren't into hockey, now is a great time to check it out. Rangers are a very likable team and fight hard through 3 periods. NHL playoff hockey is a GREAT product.

I know this isn't Knicks related but they share the same home court, and the Rangers board is flatlined.

This is the opening round. Rangers are the (metropolitan division) 2 seed and the Flyers are 3 seed. Should be a really really good game on Friday night.

its 1st round right now. Rangers are up 2-1. Still plenty of hockey to play, they gotta beat philly next game to put them on the ropes. Once its 2-2 anything can happen.

I tried getting into hockey but after watchin a few videos of players getting slit in the throat with the skate blades, it was too much for me. But good luck Rangers!

I've been on the fence about Carcillo lately. Didn't think it was a good idea to play him against Philly because he seems to be a magnet for the extra curricular activities. Last night though, dude won me over. He went from being nearly unconscious to getting called for a big penalty to scoring a nail in the coffin goal....all in a 10 minute time span.

I'm not quite sold Rangers are a legit Stanley Cup threat but I did enjoy watching their last game.

I have to start watching. I hate the Flyers and I hate Philadelphia sports fans.

So, what do you think of the The Trade? St. Louis has played well so far this series. I questioned it at the time and during the regular season.

St.Louis is an all time great "little guy". We've got a bunch of guys on our roster in the same mold as him. Callahan was looking for a big pay day and I like to believe that it was better to overpay for MSL with a draft pick than Callahan with a big and long contract. St. Louis struggled when he first got here but he's playing like one of our best players now. While Callahan didnt do ish for TB in the playoffs (0 G/ 0 A and -2). Rangers needed scoring and it looks like they have that with St. Louis (2 G/ 3 A) and 1 game winning goal.

How far do you think we can go in the playoffs?
