The Bulls just gave him a sizable contract extension. It's way more likely that Boozer will get amnestied before Taj gets traded.

Also, I'm calling it now BTW.

Minnesota will be in the middle of a big 3 or 4 team deal, maybe a full blockbuster with Derrick Williams moving on.

Ya with L.A., except I don't think it will be a blockbuster. I called Gerald Henderson from Charlotte to Minnesota with Williams to L.A. (Hill becomes Charlotte's guy next to Mullens. I was hoping to get Marshon from you guys in a deal but that's not working out if Hill is in that deal.

Varejao for Hump and pick. Varejao would make us better defensively, but an injury liability.

Nene would not be good for us. Boozer would be mediocre. Smith or Horford would not be sent to us for the crap we have.

Don't see us making a move this year. Maybe getting rid of Brooks and Teletovic while they still have trade value for something that is a better fit or a pick.

Why would Nene not be good for us?

Also, starting to re-warm up to the idea of Millsap some.

Considering one guy is barely getting into games and the other guy isn't even suiting for games, I would do it.

He would be coming off the bench though, while he's a starter in Portland.... I'm sure he wouldn't be too happy.

I said it a couple days ago about getting Williams. I think he might be a good fit for the team.... we would have to move Hump though and probably find a third team and I think that would be pretty difficult.

What "contender" is looking for a solid rebounding PF?? And DON'T say the Knicks, lol

im not a big derrick williams fan, but you are correct in that he is what we need. we really dont have any super athletic guys who play above the rim. wish we had retained gerald green

How about MarShon Brooks for Gerald Henderson if he's healthy?

Brooks and Tele have near zero trade value because they're out of teh rotation One could argue that we are winning more games by going with veteran defensive minded players, but no doubt they havent really been given much chance to prove themselves. Averys gotta play em, its not all about Ws and Ls, we gotta field the best team we can come playoffs or in this case the trade deadline.

I like Nene. He's big, a great passer, good all around defender (at p n rolls too) and we can probably get him just for Hump in a 3 team deal

Yeah of the two truly realistic bigs out there, I like Nene or Millsap.

And MarShon should still have trade value to get a player like Henderson who's good but not great and relatively close to his ceiling and has restricted free agency looming with a team that would prefer to not clog it's cap for a guy who's quite repetitive to the two swings they just drafted.

If we brought in one of Nene or Millsap for something like Hump and maybe a 1st round pick and then Henderson for MarShon and Childress, I think those could be two enormous moves for this team for the present and long term.

I like Millsap a lot but I don't see anyway to get him, even if we throw in 1st rounders. Nene is at that point where he's too old to play for a non-contender, and has that big contract. If we turn Hump around for expirings we can probably nab him. Millsap himself is an expiring so theres really no reason for the Jazz to let him go unless they really don't want to keep him.

I don't see anyway Utah keeps Millsap or wants to at the price it'll cost them to retain him.

Is it me being a homer, or is Nene realistic? Why would the Wizards want to keep him after the season they are having as a team. Don't they have to go fire-sale and Nene would probably be the hardest player for them trade given the contract.

Nene is very realistic. By all counts including common sense.

Also a certain someone told a certain someone who told me that Nene is someone that is still on the Nets radar and has a chance of happening. There is still mutual interest between Nets - Nene - Agent, I imagine Washington would be the wildcard and things are seeming to line up well for that.

The real question is... is Nene going to be healthy?

So what? Nene for Hump and Brooks?

Something like that. Speculative stuff, but you can say with some whispers of truth.
