in PJs defense, it was a very ugly 6 minutes.

i think with mirza its simple. if he come sin and is hitting shots, he will stay on the floor. if he doesnt, he wont.

i know thats rough, especially for a rookie, but with 3 PF's, thats all he can really do

It's true, Atlanta couldn't guard Lopez, at all. We criminally underused him offensively.

But then we spam him with ISOs against players that give him a lot of trouble, like Chandler and Hibbert, it makes no sense.

Both him and Hump played terrible today and rightfully didn't play much. Mirza was actually worse , tried to much when he came and and just looked totally off.

yeah... i dont get why he didnt get more touches. we didnt even look to get the ball to his side of the floor most of the time.

every single time he touched it, something good happened.

also, that dirk like euro step back is becoming a go to shot for him, its impossible to block

I kinda think this win will put some pep in this team from the way they are all so damn happy in the interviews. They better bring it HARD on Monday.

It will be playoff implications and most importantly a game that could push us to 3rd in the East since Chicago faces LA that night, indiana at Memphis. Two games both can lose.

we need to survive these next 7 games. we could easily lose 5 or 6 of these if we dont bring A effort every night

we will find out how good we really are during this stretch

There was still a big disparity in fast break points and transition tonight. And they were missing their best player, Al Horford. Josh Smith was dogging it all game, and had awful body language. A motivated Josh Smith/Horford frontcourt combined with their quick backcourt is too quick for us.

Smith won't even be on the Hawks by the playoffs and I still think there's a good chance they keep spiraling and fall out completely if one of those crappy teams in the 9 or 10 slot can make a big trade and go on a run.

4. 2 in the first on defense, 1 in the 3rd on offense, 1 in the 4th on defense.

also.... so it doesnt count if brook scores on zaza if it isnt an iso? blind hate much?
Zaza was fronting Lopez all game and playing him very well.

he did nothing against brook. didint force him out, didnt challenge shots, didnt defend without fouling. brook got what he wanted all night. zaza did a terrible job on him.

dude watch the replay, you have no clue what you are talking about

Where did i say it does not count. This is going back to the conversation i was having earlier. Brook disappears in games vs physical bigs

if Lopez could get his as he please why did they not post him up at all today except like once. Stop being a box score jockey and actually pay attention to the games kid

Brook does not fight for position enough and tonight was just another example. if he could get his points as he pleased we would not have struggled so bad vs the Hawks

Crazy thing is Zaza is not even that great. he is just physical. What happens when Brook meets the real big boys in a 7 game series? You think he is gonna keep getting those ticky tack fouls in the playoffs?

There are a lot of those in the east so he needs to learn to work harder for position and no just be content to stand there on offense and wait for the ball. He needs to do his work off of the ball. He needs a big man coach

You're reaching brother.

Reaching even harder...

He had great position a number of times and they basically played keep away from him.

At best: 2-2 in the road trip. Wins against NYK, Minny and losses against Memphis and Houston

At worst 1-3. losses to NYK, Memphis, Houston and win against Minny.

It's not reaching when it's truth. The guy is soft. He is going to get killed in the playoffs.

You guys think these coaches who are payed to do what they do failed to see what you guys see? Brook was getting his points off other players' plays. He is not a player you can dump the ball in to and expect points when he is matched up vs bigs that know how to defend him.

Mostly because i do not think he is going to be getting these calls in the playoffs.

Played keep away from him. That is funny. More like they knew the guy was just gonna botch it like last game and they would get killed in transition because he could not out muscle his defender.

Blatche is going to be a better player in the playoffs for us than Brook. Book it.

He is soft, but I don't see how you can deny how he was destroying Atlanta's front line the last two games when he actually got the ball.

I mean, I personally think he's a guy you should create for more than actually give him ISOs, so I agree in that aspect, but you CAN give him ISOs against most matchups and expect good things.

You say that Brook will not be successful come playoff time because he "doesn't back down his opponents enough" yet claim Blatche will be better for us? Mr pumpfake twice then take a fadeaway jumper?

Yeah, I'm really starting to feel the same way. I have yet to see Lopez really really play good ball in a big big game aside from that Knicks game in November. Which he actually looked like an idiot guarded by Chandler and got a few lucky breaks in that game.

Lopez is REALLY going to have to extend his jumpshot range as he is doing now and make them INSANELY consistent because in the playoffs, he will get destroyed on the post in a 2nd round matchup against KG, Chandler or Noah. Even Bosh will outplay him on the post.

Fair point. Josh Smith's body language was so blatantly awful today, that there really is no chance that he stays. He's gone either by trade or free agency. But if he's still there, and if they haven't fallen apart, then they will be a bad matchup for us in the playoffs.
